I'm Kenophobic. This, from 0:57 to about 1:14 used to terrify me to the point of cold sweat and fear paralysis when I was little. White voids, fog to the point of feeling isolated, it all sets me off.

i am mycophobic. mushrooms scare me way more than they should. it must have something to do with spores, poisen, eating dead flesh, not being plant or animal and they look really creepy. i think this fear is completely ratinal but i have had others tell me different.

Re: Phobias - Any stories?
I have a fairly ridiculous fear of eye injury/irritation, but I usually keep it to myself as best I can. It came from when I was little and got this pointed seed thing in my eye and had to find my way home basically blinded. Now whenever there's any possibility of eye injury I just can't keep them open. I really hate when someone is using a writing utensil in a vehicle. Just a couple weeks ago I overheard a story of someone getting a hot fire poker in the eye, my eyes were bloodshot and tearing just from the thought.
That's the only phobia. I mean sure, I have other fears, but they're all uninteresting, common, or downright reasonable.
Well, forget it.

Re: Phobias - Any stories?
I'm scared shit-less of deep/black water.
i once went on a boat ride around the Farne islands off the coast of northern England, famous for the story of Grace Darling who saved some sailors who crashed on the rocks there. anyways, the water is deep, black and the thought of crashing on the rocks in the back of my mind was made worse when a huge storm blew in and the boat was basicly about to capsize. at least i had fish and chips when i got back to shore!
also i went kayaking on a huge loch in Scotland and to earn my one star in kayaking i had to capsize in the middle of the dark waters, and then when i did it, something touched my foot ahhh.

I can understand how some modest stuff isn't bad, some neat stories here and there, but when this becomes a 'lol who is weirder than who' competition, this forum reverts back to middle school mode.

Re: Phobias - Any stories?
My Fears -Arachnophobia - I can't even stand little spiders. If I see a web or something, I'm fine. I can pick up a box, that could be filled with spiders, and be fine. But if I see a spider I will flip the ♥♥♥♥ out and run. It's terrible. -Fear of large indoor areas - I can't explain this one rationally, but a big empty room will really bother me. I sometimes have nightmar ish dreams of my room being really big and me being really really small. -Fear of deep water - I hate water when I can't see bottom, and dislike when I can't touch it. If I'm alone I won't even swim. If it's really deep but I have friends or something, I can manage, but I will be uncomfortable. -Fear of audiences - I can't do stuff in front of people. This encompasses public speaking, acting, or even doing a trick or playing an instrument. I think this has something to do with my intense paranoia.

Spiders. Spiders. SPIDERS.
These things scare the draws off me to this day...
I just imagine them scurrying up my leg as i try to grab it off - BUT NO - its too fast! Its going up my pants. Up through my chest with all eight of its disgusting legs. Its on my head now! latching on and biting me with its massive fangs.
Yeah... spiders.

Re: Phobias - Any stories?
This one is strange I'd figure. I have a fear of large drain systems. Like a dam intake or the grates on the sides of large swimming pools for the pump. I'm not fearful of the water at all, just the water flowing in through the pipe. .___.

Are you, a vampire, joe?
Here is a fear, large, empty, and dark areas, especially at night. I call it paranoia!

Re: Phobias - Any stories?
I'm afraid of fire. When I was three my mom left the curling iron on the counter, I grabbed it and got a bad burn on my chest. When I was 10 I stuck my finger in a car cigarette lighter because I thought it wouldn't hurt.
I'm afraid of falling, not heights. I hate the sensation of falling, the way your stomach feels as you plummet.
I'm also afraid of being alone in pitch blackness. I've kind of developed this fear since moving to England, especially last year when I went to go visit a cave in Southern England. We walked in, the lights went out and I smashed my head on a stalagmite.
