So, by the 23rd or 24th (though you'll have a better chance of me getting to it the earlier you submit).

Post Re: MOD CONTEST (05/09 - 06/09) -STARTED-
3 things,

1) All of you dropping out are pussies, it takes at most 1 day to make a damn gun that shoots something that goes boom, and make it look fantastic, I made my entire thing in 4 fudge hours, with an extra hour and a half for sounds and thats only because I had to save them as .wav, import into another program, and save it as .mp3 because my wav codec is somehow different than what CC can load. you people have no excuse. LEARNING LUA CAN WAIT THE ONE FUDGE DAY TO MAKE A MOD!

You pull my competition, it feels like i'm somehow cheating because if my mod wins everyone who drops out will be like 'oh well I could have done better, lets see you make a good mod with lua!' and my response will be "make a good mod WITHOUT lua"

2) Since I'm done, I might be willing to make... i dunno theme music that can be added to your sig-files? maybe add it in some low-size flash that can be image-linked so you have a play-button in your sig file that plays? I dunno if i'm quite willing to make it load and play, and it wont stream you'll have to upload it somewhere that can be linked but I could make it.

3) Duh, your avatar is 404-ing

In response to your 1st point:
I could easily make my entry for this contest in well under an hour.
And, I am a lazy son of a ♥♥♥♥♥. A second factor is I really need to learn Lua, it's driving me crazy.

We modders need to know it, or else plain old .ini modding will look like the work of infants. That being said, .ini modding is not exactly the easiest thing to do, and takes a good deal of skill to make decent mods. But on the other hand, look at what has been done with Lua within the first 48 hours of Build 23. Nowhere near possible with .ini modding.

I agree with Whitty, except I finished my freakin' weapon 5 minutes after the contest started.

I'm in also but Lua is distracting me too much for me to make anything for my entry, which is pretty much ready. I'll just wait the week to see if I get any epic ideas. Most likely not.

the onle awesome things made with lua that I have seen is better homing missiles, teleporting stuff, and a mind control gun. Homing missiles can be done without lua, they just don't work very well. so really lua has only added 2 things. also the majority of lua scripted things will probably end up being bunker modules, or stuff made by the people who crank out super awesome mods that keep these forums going like, you know, people like you... wait... *facepalm*

But still you can learn lua and still make a mod that doesn't use it. you can practically eat breakfast and crap out a decent gun that makes things explode. thats just what you do.

I'm with whitty. I mean i could make my entry in one hour, but unfortunately, i seem to not have the time, even though it seems i have all the time in the world. I, like whitty, am trying to learn lua, which is driving me to insanity, so that is taking up my time.

That's why i told duh to make me an optional in a pm... So basically i could, but prolly won't. So miles, please stop calling the people who actually want to learn things about modding rather than stick to the baby ini modding because we actually care, geez.

OK, Miles... You do not seem to realize the situation.
I can make my entry in under an hour.
I am a lazy ass.
It is now the weekend. I am out and about, not sitting in front of a screen much at all.
Lua = hard. It takes time to learn. Especially if you want to be good at it.
Me = highly experienced, well recognized modder.
You = ....what are your mods again?
I don't want to start a flame war, I'm just stating facts. Anything else you have to say, say it in PMs.

Anyways...
Does anyone else think that Lua looks like Java? Or Java like Lua... Whatever.

ini =/= baby

with the exception of teleporters, healing, and delays on firing, NOTHING new has been made thanks to lua.
We could do homing missiles before without lua, Its an exploding actor with a gun thats a vacuum. We could do doors before, we've had them since which build wasn't it like 10 or earlier?

Not only that but Lua used to be usable on maps, why the hell didn't you learn it when Lua was added the FIRST time for scenes, Learn THEN and be awesome now. Guess what, you DIDN'T!, You didn't care then, why the hell should you care now?

The above rant goes for you but there's extra for you.

Your mods are map rape, and glow rape 90% of the time. your well recognized because you always post, people respect you as a person, and you crank out 80 million mods, many of which I can't stand to use, there put together well, and completely sap the fun out of the game because there all overpowered.

and as for what have I made?

Lets see starting with B13 and moving on shall we?

Noisy cricket (old liquefier that I was complimented on for it not lagging like ALL of the others)
Flamer (Old flamethrower that didn't spam AEmitters, and actually looked like fire, and had a realistic arc, and glow)

Sentinal beam/devistator. A digger laser that didn't rape the map, and the people who actually took the time to use it enjoyed it because it was balanced, fun to use, and had a cool sound.

Tau conversion 1, back in B13 I think, included 4 guns at a minimum, and the only people who posted where people like grif, who instantly hated it, without DLing it, because it was me posting. It was balanced, the only problem was the sounds where to loud.

Tau Conversion 1.5, I updated it and people complained because I didn't rip the sounds from dawn of war like a lazy bastard, and I actually made my own sounds.

Pirate mod : Included a bomb with 25 unique gibs all with there own gib vectors, which I painstakingly added one a time, 25 gibs with 25 sprites, that guess what, fit together like a puzzle to make what the bomb itself actually looked like, A Huge blunderbuss that had a new sprite, and was balanced, but still more powerfull. It included a blunderbuss pistol, before one was added as vanilla content and given a retarded name. It had 2 skeletal pirates, with pirate hats, and new jetpacks that wherent a bunch of yellow lines, AND they had armor. AND a barrel of explosives.

Working WITH 411570N3 to make a new tau conversion, Work by me on,
Fusion blaster, Rail gun, and maintaining quality control to make sure it doesn't suck. I'm also going to be creating the full size battlesuit, with heavier railguns, and smart missile system, that will have target seeking missiles, that WONT use lua, just to prove you CAN make a good smart missile without lua at all.

So screw your 'i'm a respected modder and your not' its you saying your better than me just to make yourself feel better about pussing out on a contest, that MY submission will probably blow whatever you would half-ass on this contest out of the water, and you just don't want to have to TRY, and your using 'its the weekend' as en excuse for MULTI-WEEK CONTEST.

If you wanna drop out and baby yourself with lua fine by me, but you don't get bragging rights as the better modder, and the winner of this contest will be the best mod maker, because they can make a good mod that doesn't rely on being padded with lua to make it good.

Arguing on the internet is like the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded.
