Man, so many possibilities

I mean the word "explosive" covers like 3/4 of all weapons....

This will take a while to think of one that im gonna use.

Btw Roon, how are the sprites comin?

i'm almost done, already, although this was certainly a way to get me going.

The trouble is I'm stuck with an AEmitter and can't figure out, I have an AEmitter that gibs into another AEmitter, the 2nd AEmitter however blinks out of Existance in under half a second, and should instead be persistent for 3 seconds.

Does anyone know how to fix this? (Think bouncing missiles, not what I'm doing but it would require the same)

--edit sorry about the double post, I didn't look, also how do I delete?

You can't but I can. And about that AEmitter thing... Try making
the Gib impulse limit higher, and make sure that it is set to "EmissionsIgnoreThis = 1"
so it doesn't wound gib.

And if you haven't tried the Lifetime, then make it longer.

well I got it working now, mostly, but... what exactly does EmissionsIgnoreThis = # do? does it work with a -1?

also I just have to fix the offset for the gun, add some screen effects and sounds and I'm done.

EmissionsIgnoreThis makes the emitted particles ignore collisions with the emitter, if it's set to 1. 0 means it doesn't collide.

It now does and looks exactly what I wanted it to do and look like.

All I have to do is add sound. ID Software would be proud.

I'm finished. 100% finished. This is most likely the best mod I've ever made, and guess what. It runs on 512 MB ram just fine. it is not dependent on any base.rte content, and doesn't copy any references either.

also, without showing the gun itself, or the explosion, here's the aftermath of 2 clips (bad aim)

(timescale is 0.88 on my machine on the tutorial with no particles. my gun didn't drop it to 0.70 except when an actor was hugging the explosion and absorbed all the particles... that sucked, that dropped to 0.68)

I think i'm gonna tweak it though, make the ammo shiny. you know...

Sounds interesting, cant wait to see what you guys cook up. :)
Also remember that you can do some batshitcrazy cool effects for explosions with particles and what not. A good way to make things pretty is to have multiple different particles that come out at low or high velocities.

Hmm...

I should try recreating that old blackhole bomb by FarvanTorna.
It lagged like hell when it went out of control, but damn wasnt it fun when it went insane! :D

Mine uses an absurd amount of glow as well. just don't make an exploding rainbow gun. please... that would be just stupid.

You make your own presentation, and id suggest a gif, because it would look much better for presentation, but thats just me
