Hmm, would that be possible without it destroying itself?

   |   Re: Energy Mine DeployerI like how it fires a laser particle for each particle that hits it. I was using a rather particle heavy sniper rifle when shooting at it and was quite shocked to see a laggy attack response that severed the MARS I was using into two pieces.

I don't think there will EVER be good enough AI to where it thinks "hey, maybe I SHOULDN'T shoot this enemy unit." Makes it feel a bit exploitative.

Maybe a sort of adaptive AI could learn that "Huh, all the guys before me who shot this thing died. Maybe I shouldn't shoot it..."

   |   Re: Energy Mine DeployerThat would mean some sort of cowardice/threat evaulation system.
Don't think that meat puppets are smart enough to figure out how dangerous a thing is.

Not possible unless data gives more controll over AI system(at least give a system to disable AI shooting).

   |   Re: Energy Mine DeployerI know a lot of AI in squad-based games have specific modes of attack/defense, like, "Fire on all enemy units", "Fire on all enemy infantry", "Fire only when fired upon", "Don't fire even when fired upon", etc. CC's potential AI level is kind of limited, though, Lua and all I guess you could code out specific actions taken by the AI in response to specific situations, but you probably couldn't code an adaptive AI.
