Re: Mod Changer Contest
Prizes. Bleh. The best ones are Tangible. I'm sure 1 American US Dollar sent in the mail would be a sufficient prize. Especially to someone who doesn't live in the US. Or a rare state quarter, even though you aren't a coin collector, you can still brag that you have it. Even a cheap printed certificate received in the mail is better than a badge. Or maybe I just don't get enough mail

Re: Mod Changer Contest
How about it just says contests won : _____ somewhere.
Honestly, i think the prize should be something here on the forum, because one US dollar isnt really anything, or a quarter. I just think that a badge would do well and cause many people to particapate, or more than there would be if we just had a quarter prize

Re: Mod Changer Contest
I like my high-five idea...
On a more serious note, how about we just go ahead and make up a contest, here and now, and see if little images will do for prizes? We can keep speculating, but we'll never get anywhere. In fact, if I don't see a contest by the weekend, I'm making up one with those prize badges I made.
We shall see how much motivation pixels are. Shiny pixels.

But after a while they would take up too much space, so either i say do a contests won: ____ or my other idea of a badge that keeps changing colors for the more contest youve won like this then once 4 are won starts looking like this and so on, cept wayy smaller: This saves space i guess

WizardJames has stated that the Badges are not going to change, so badge prizes are out.

Re: Mod Changer Contest
we aren't allowed to use badges or modified badges as a avatar so maybe with WJ's permission the winner could?

Re: Mod Changer Contest
I wouldn't change my avatar for some silly badge I won from some modding competition. Why can't it be in the sig area thing? Also, by not using badges in the avatar I think WJ meant those trooper things under it.

Re: Mod Changer Contest
I've been running themed spriting contests on another message board. The prize for the winner is that their work is added to a "hall of fame" topic plus they choose the theme for next month's contest. It's got quite a few entrants for the past 4/5 months, so maybe something like that would work.
Tangible prizes would be cool, but really I'm sure that nothing like that is ever going to happen.

Also the hall of fame could act as a archive for the entries, having a download for the winner and for the rest of that contest's entries. Obviously it would be locked and pinned, and each contest's update would be a reply done by an admin. Then there could be another pinned thread about the current contest, and discussion and all that. It could just be a monthly thing, where at the beginning of each month, the current contest ends, polls for it start, polls for the previous contest are over, and the next contest starts. A regular additional prize could be the chance to decide the next contest theme, but obviously they would be disqualified for that one. And of course every now and then the actual prize of a CC key could be donated, but it wouldn't be a regular thing.
