I don't like the "only winning so many contests in this time frame" idea for 2 reasons:
1) You are taking people out of the competition; That will have people competing against less people. And seeing as how the person who won previously is obviously a good modder, the other people will not try as hard to win, thus resulting in the possibility of modders not making things to their full potential.
2) If someone wins a contest, more is expected of them in the next one. It encourages people to always try their hardest, and because of that, we won't get anywhere near as many half-assed mods. It might even encourage new modders to try harder and make better mods.

I'd support the idea of a cotest type thing.
My idea is that you have badges that you're allowed to put in your signature if you win a contest. But the badges have a slot for numbers, so if you win the same type of competition more than once then it just adds to the number in the badge, not cluttering up the signature. As an balance for lower to mid level modders, we could also have contests for various levels, so that, say, I wouldn't have to compete against Numgun or Zalo.

Also, maybe make the prize be a special image in your sig? I dunno. Just a suggestion.
Or make something like "Contests won = __" along with the location, post count, and date joined under our avatars.

AHahahahahahahah

"2 weeks long"

"Special fudge image under sig?"

OHHOHOhohohhahahahAhHaaaa

"Contests won?"

ROFL

My god, youre ridiculous.
With this crap, no contest will go anywhere.

Why not? That'd be a real challenge for anyone. And contests are about challenge.

A real challenge? If you guys went seriously then no competition would have winners apart from you guys...
Though I suppose that's the point really, you guys wouldn't really be able to take every competition seriouosly or you'd die of exhaustion.
Eventually.

Well, I have a few ideas of my own. We could have a low level, for people who are just starting out and haven't even released their first mod yet, but can manipulate code to make something interesting. Then there would be the level 1 modders, who have made mods, but nothing revolutionary. Then there are people like Darlos, Numgun, DSMK2, Capnbubs, Areku, the list goes on. See? 3 levels. I'd be on level 1, but I have some interesting ideas.

I'd join it.

If people want fancy pics...

Black text is the competition month (04/09), white number is the competition level, color is, well, place.

Nice pics. Maybe they could be part of our igs, and we'd have the titles under our avatars?

Heres an idea.

There should be contests to create the best and most creative weapon/actor etc, and if any are found to be good enough, they will be included in the game as part of one of the factions. They should obviously be made to fit in with the vanilla content. Example: Saltydog's whitebot brainbot mod.

The prize is you get to have your mod in the game. :P

Better example:
The coalition Bethseda or Nova's whitebots. That's right kinds, while you're waiting for the brain mech, you can have whitebots instead!

On other forums I go to, the general consensus is that just making a poll so that the general public can vote for the winner is the best way to judge this sort of thing.
I mean, it's open to influence by popularity, but to be honest there is no method that isn't.

So there'd be 2 weeks for entry then 2 days for voting or something?

o_O

Wow, now I'm seeing some progress here. I really wasnt expecting anyone to mention that.

But cmon guys, modding is hard work. Getting a badge seems just not a good reward to get for hours or even days of work you put in your mod.
And I cant guarantee that official content stuff. That just doesnt sound right at all.

My idea for awards is similar......but i dont know if itll be supported. I still like the idea of it under your avatar, so like there are 5 stars, that are filled with yellow for each contest youve won. Then, when those are filled up, they start filling it with orange stars, and so on. It'd keep the amount of space it takes up to a minimum :)
