Try kill the male blonds. The head looks like: And for the last part, lua might be able to fix that.

Long post. :-/ Go post it in the general discussion. This problem bugs me too, maybe other players have the same opinion too.

Re: Mission: Assassination
Since I completed the mission, my new goal in this mission is to try to complete it with full health, and/or kill every single enemy in it. Now I see what some people have been saying. It's HARD not to get even a single piece of shrapnel or a single hard fall in the game, much more so than simple avoiding being shot. But, I completed the other goal...almost. I killed everyone, had 88/100 health left, and was walking over to the other side of the map to crawl to freedom, get some r/r, and retire from the military. But, I rocket jumped over a ledge (why can't this game have jumps, like in Soldat or Worms Armageddon? Oh well, take it up with general forum.) and...plop. Dead. That's just not fair. I didn't even hit it that hard. I rocket up, and all that's all it takes for me to die? Grr. Now I know why Commander Keen wears a full football helmet rather than just an army helmet. -.- Also, this screen shot can answer diaperboy...er...dapaperboy's comment. dapaperboy wrote: edit: that sh!t is hard! i always cut my legs off when i try to dig with the shovel. is there any way to prevent this? That happened to me a few plays before this mission. I had 100 health I think but two shovels down and I lost both my legs, and bled to death. I find that with the shovel, the trick is to never dig straight down. Always, always dig at an angle. Heck, if you want to make a regular hole, you can zig-zag down, rather than going straight down. It'll save your legs.

The thing is, the shovel uses its normal round code to fire the "digging blast" that only harms terrain. And then I used the shell code to fire a very heavy particle that is the hurting particle that can smack stuff. So my guess unlike the normal round that the "FireIgnoreThis = 1" variable affects, does not take in account the shell of the weapon.

Re: Mission: Assassination
I've found that crouching and digging is less likely to kill you.
Or was it more likely?
That would be helpful to know. I hate my memory.
Still, if you do it right, the only time you need to dig is when you are stuck in a pipe, in which case the shovel normally won't hurt you at all.

Re: Mission: Assassination
Huh, I beat it, it was fairly easy. Once I discovered that the enemies could see you from off-screen, I beat them at their little game.
I couldn't find the guy I had to kill, until after I killed every single other guy in the map. Mostly, that was because I was afraid to go under ground in the beginning.
But I easily took him out by firing the rocket launcher at the ceiling and it took out both of the guys. This is also where I lost my first 5 points of health.
I continued to beat the map, with 95 health, and I had killed everybody. (Hardly used the vents, since the comma on my computer won't register for crouching, it was in the middle of the game that I changed my keyboard mapping for M as crouch.)
I almost used the vent behind him so I could do a "stealth assasination", but I decided to take the front-way, since it had the bazooka.

Assault Rifle
I was wondering something. A few pages back, I asked about changing the start weapons. That got me thinking...wouldn't that be very easy?
I'm looking at C:\Program Files\Data Realms\Cortex Command\assassination.rte\Scenes and there are two files, the Configuration and LUA. Opening LUA (I have rudimentary programming skills from taking half a year of Java in 12th grade), I notice the lines
pl:AddInventoryItem(CreateHDFirearm("Auto Pistol")); pl:AddInventoryItem(CreateHDFirearm("Compact Rifle"));
Now, say I want to change that to a regular assault rifle and a Coalition pistol. How do I do that? I'm just not sure of the exact wording Cortex Command uses; otherwise switching the compact for a regular assault rifle sounds like it'd be very simple.

Re: Mission: Assassination
Just replace the name between the quotation marks with the exact name, caps and all, of the weapon you want to spawn

Re: Mission: Assassination
This is damn hard! or maybe i just suck.
Lets talk strategy!
i usually spray my pistol to kill the first two guys. take the sniper and snipe the next guy. i tend to do the "keep shooting until a bullet makes it through the wall" method. they always seem to get my though. not directly though. mostly from the bleeding.

Re: Mission: Assassination
Ok, works for me. (replaced with Assault Rifle, like I wanted).
But what about when there are two weapons with the same name, like the default pistol and the faster-firing Coalition gone, also called "Pistol"?. Is there a list some where of object names and exactly what object they correspond to?
