Re: Art Dump
What initially turned me onto art was my sister, who is five years older than me and also drew and an early age. So I've been putting pencil (and other things) to paper since before I can remember. But I don't think it was until my early teens that I was like "alright, I'm gonna try to get GOOD at this stuff." At it honestly wasn't until rather recently that I got a decent grasp of anatomy.
I'm a pretty spastic artist. I like to just feel my way through the process without any real guidelines or planning. I guess its like what bubs said about just thinking about what you're drawing, not how you're drawing. Unfortunately, I'm not that skilled yet, so I tend to get a bit stumbled if I try to do anything complicated. But try, I must...

Re: Art Dump
Just found a picture of a jet i drew in primary 1 or 2. It's actually pretty damn good, it's better than the jets I draw now (seriously).
Might scan later... i never do though.

Re: Art Dump
http://filesmelt.com/Imagehosting/pics/ ... b7bd6b.pngWe went out for a meal last night. I had set out to try to capture a few images in my mind as a "creative exercise". I found a some trees to be interesting so I captured a mental image, I also liked some of the décor to be quite nice, old fashioned lights and furnishings but they are not in this drawing. The purple mushroom thingy, leaf and colours were put in creatively as ideas.

Re: Art Dump
I did this game concept a while ago http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_hrlXgrfwiCI/S ... Canvas.pngit isn't supposed to be similar to cortex command at all in terms of gameplay, except that bases and battle locations (which include bases) are viewed in 2d from a side view, however my visual mock-up looks very similar to CC as I have no idea how to do bases in any other way on a 2d plane... I think I'll have to switch to top down. pics of development: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_hrlXgrfwiCI/S ... Canvas.pnghttp://lh5.ggpht.com/_hrlXgrfwiCI/Sb6aF ... ock-up.png[edit] also for some strange reason a friend said to me over msn: "how are babies made" or something, I took this as a joke and replied "lol, I dunnoe" and then made this: http://filesmelt.com/Imagehosting/pics/ ... fa8ae2.png I didn't get to show it him unfortunately as I had to go to the shop and when I came back he was gone, I showed it to krumbs and he made a better thing, but he will have to post it himself

I don't mean to be a jerk or anything, but I think it's necessary to point out that Orglar's picture is a copy of a piece of official art from The World Ends With You: http://www.anaitgames.com/wp-content/up ... mimoto.jpgNow, its a very GOOD copy, of course. But by the reactions I'm not sure if its understood that it's a copy in the first place.

Re: Art Dump
It's funny how I have always gotten straight 10's and stuff from art subjects, when I really can't draw and I am too lazy to practice.
I mean seriously, a 10 from arts? (Finnish grade system, 4-10, 4 is failed ten is best). Same for music, only 9's and 10's while I can't play any instrument. The only class where I really feel like I deserve my grades is English.

Re: Art Dump
I would just like to draw attention to one of the pictures that are shown when you search for 'Cortex Command' on Google images.

Re: Art Dump
Haha, cool. My spriting has greatly improved over the last few days, here's some helmet thing I just did: Got inspired by those "badge" thingies, uses 24 colors. (I'm trying to understand Prom's style, can't say I've gotten anywhere...) Edit: Slightly brightened the helmet. Thanks to Peach from pixelation for pointing this out.

Re: Art Dump
It made me warm on the inside when I saw it. Wish it was one of my better Cortex Command pictures up though
