The game itself runs fine. No slowdowns, doesn't hang, smooth as a greased ape flying down a bowling lane. The mouse control is awful though. It won't move, then it'll fly across the screen in one swoop. It'll move in short bursts. It'll lag. The mouse is a G9 and works perfectly fine in every other application.

I would like to use Mouse and Keyboard controls.

I've noticed this happening when I'm running at high resolutions. Lowering it fixed the problem for me.
