except when you crouch the actor's torso flips over regardless of the pathing.

Nice mod, but as I just got back from playing L4D, these would only be true to life if your units were selfish teamkilling ♥♥♥holes who call you a noob after they kill themselves meleeing a tank.

Unfortunately this is too true. This mod is much simply for the fact you control everyone yourself.

Have you considered maybe making the actors gib non-moving actors to simulate them 'falling' like they do in L4D? It'd be a pain in the arse but totally worth it.

I always the think of the teammates as being brain dead dumbasses that stubbornly camp somewhere because you stood there for a few seconds.
Seriously, I have no idea how many times I've minigun'd Zoey for deciding to camp the leftward building's roof on the rooftop finale.
L4D lags so hard and my connection is so crappy I pretty much can't play online, and just play with AI.
And I think there might have been an update that all the servers got, that I can't because of my... means of attainment of my copy of the game.
But let's not get into that.

Yeah, I talked about that in the previous Mod Making thread for this. I was thinking of going about it quite differently, using Lua in a custom mission to replace actors with their incap'd state, but missions almost certainly won't get done anyway so that wouldn't happen.

Simply gibbing into an incap'd survivor would be screwy, you would have to be sure the only means of death were gibbing the body, or else you could die and become terrain instead of becoming incapacitated. While that could be done, you would have to make everything but the main body not get hit by MOs, or at least not take wound damage. But then you could do something clever with BreakWounds to make multiple wounds instead of high damage, and then limb wounds causing dismemberment could result in incapacitation instead.

...A helping hand tool might even be doable to bring them back to their regular state, without using Lua, but rather a crazy breakwound on an uber-weak material attachable. But helpings wouldn't be restarted if interrupted. And it would make a new upright actor and just kill the incap'd one. It might function, but it'd never look right.

I might fiddle around with the idea, but don't expect anything.

Temporary attachment, ignore.

Yeah I'd figure a function like this would be a horrible pain in the ass to make it look quite right, but even if it looked.. odd I think the feature alone would be quite cool, even if you couldn't help them back up; and besides I think the chance to get incapacitated rather than always wouldn't be that bad either.

I'm not exactly an expert of the code here so I can't really suggest anything else, good luck.

With the announcement of lua for items, etc, you can make healing items way more functional.

Yep.
While Lua on everything makes this mod's 'completion' more possible, it doesn't make it particularly appealing.
Like I said in OP, I've kinda lost interest.
Continuing this imitation seems to be a chore now.
I don't think I'll do much more if anything on this mod.

But that is a good idea, using Lua for healing items.

Could you maybe make them count as brains (or make seperate brain-actors) before giving up completely? :)

This a really awsome mod, but could you add the special infected like hunters, tanks, boomers, and even smokers?? If you could that would be awsome! Other than that this mod is very cool.

I accuse thee of necro, and stealing people's avatars (i'm a bit pissed at when you took my previous one, and god knows who's that is, I forgot...)

Also note that the OP said that he/she lost all interest in the mod, and plus, the spriter hasn't logged in for eons... It's unlikely for it to be updated anytime soon.

It means you posted a very long time after the last post, in this case many months, without any significant contribution to the thread. It is frowned upon. Please don't do it again or I shall have to warn you.
