that space marines pic was epic, and epically nerdy.
I don't actually do the Larp portion of it, I just go to fight. I don't give a rats ass about the RP element other than getting to run around like a crazy mad-max wannabe beating the crap out of people.

That part of it is fun. I just hate the drama when people go all serious business on us.
As for nerf guns, I out grew that when I was 6, and moved on to laser tag, and then wanting to turn a blue-ray burner laser, and a zapper for the old NES into a working laser gun.
same progression with the super soakers.

and it came to larp because "foam guns, meat foam swords"

Anyone remember these? I used to have fun with a couple of friends doing a free for all and/or team matches in a club house when we were like 9 or 10 years old. We hid behind the tables like in action movies and reloaded each dart after shooting those akward toy guns. Epic fun. : 3

Epic fun. : 3 I remember walking out to go to the toilet when I was 6 or something and since it was obscenely late (10 o'clock!) I took one of those guns, calling this a 'mission'. When my mum popped out I naturally shot her in the face. I also had one of those guns I got at a Spar shop, it was so cheap and shoddy that the rubber end fell off when I shot it at my brother. Since we decided it was too powerful we shot the un-rubbered stick at the roof, which blew a hole in it.

Considering the gun paranoia here in england I'd probably give someone a heart attack. Actually, my understanding is that countries with gun bans actually have a higher popularity of things like airsoft. At least I know this is the case in China and Japan. I remember walking into some stores in Japan and seeing entire huge glass display cases with rows and rows of airsoft guns. And those guns tend to actually look real. Anyone who is scared by a Nerf gun is an idiot. unless you're in Australia, in which case Airsoft is pretty close to banned to. You need to have a great reason to get a license, like a drop bear infestation. I've never liked the Nerf guns because of the limited range (kind of like piss-weak grenade launchers), so I've got a set of Sega Lock-ons for laser tag battles.

Like since ten minutes ago? Did I miss the national announcement or something? Also, drop bears 'aint so bad, they're only bad when they attack the rows of kangaroos I use to pull my ute to work at the beach which is composed of hunting cane toads. Definitely. No sarcasm here. Nope. None whatsoever. And drop bears definitely exist as well.

And after work, you throw shrimp on the barbie, which is coincidentally atop the Sydney Opera house, which is on top of Ayers rock? I KNEW IT.

Shortly before doing daily Steve Erwin mass by sploshing zinc cream on our noses and going to the beach to wrestle crocodiles and choose kangaroos from the herds for dinner.
Anyways, I have two maverick<whatever number it is>s or something... the big revolver thingos... yeah... they're pretty fun. I looped a cord through the holes on the reload slides so you can reload with one in each hand by pulling the other one back...
Has an idea: extreme laser tag, no pissy red lasers - proper terawatt high energy solid-state lasers... In tank chassis... On a few acres... You heard me, TERAwatt lasers...

Nerf guns are fun. I bought a maverick a while ago (the one that looks like a revolver). I got mad though when I found out that the rotating barrel couldn't rotate freely. So i modded the barrel to make it spin freely (russian roulette ftw!) and removed the firing limiters to increase the fire-power.
