CrossFire

It's an FPS much like Counterstrike (of what I remember of CS, considering I haven't played it in forever). It's pretty much identical to CS in concept, actually, what with terrorists and counterterrorists and various guns and deathmatches. In fact, the only truly unique thing about it that I can think of is ghost mode, which is basically search and destroy (no respawn, plant bomb or defuse bomb, depending on side), except the bomb-planting team is fast and invisible unless they move, but are restricted to using knives. It's a fun mode, but I mostly like the game because it manages to find that wonderful place of being a great FPS through pure simple fun.

It's in beta, and just became available late last year. Free download, no paying unless you want to reset your K:D ratio, win/loss ratio, get tags, get more XP, get more GP to spend in-game, etc. In other words, there's not really any real reason to pay unless you really like the game.


Don't buy any guns except maybe the P228 for a sniper sidearm. Once you get a feel for the game, get the AWP if you like sniping, the SPAS if you want to go shotty, or the SCAR Light if you want a better assault rifle.

Crossfire looks like ♥♥♥♥ at first, but it's actually okay imo
