Use GMT when specifying times. GMT-5 is a lot easier to figure out in relation to the other GMTs than PST.

if possible try to do it on tabletop, you may feel uncomfortable with people making fun of your ideas if your face to face, but this probably wont happen. once you get started it feels much more social and fun(also bonus, multiple people bringing snacks)

Ok really, at this point I think you're just googling "New DM advice" and vomiting it into this thread.

Anyway.
So, right now my pet project is trying to get one of my players to understand what is involved in being the DM. With any luck, he'll get interested enough to run a pre-packaged adventure, and then I might not have to be the only DM in my playing group.

BTW, does anyone else here play 4th edition, or are you all too turned off by the oversimplification/bear lore? I've found that it's been much easier to get new players into the game with 4th ed., but the player characters still seem hugely powerful in comparison with everything else their level, even though they have no special gear whatsoever. Anyone else with 4th edition experience have any thoughts?

While one of my friends who used to play 4E all the time loved it, I avoided it. He said that yes, players are much more powerful than they were in 3.5, not to mention how strong Rogues are now.

Oh man people with persecution complexes are so funny "Everyone's out to get me wha whaa whaaaa". To answer your question though, no you don't. Maybe if you actually read the thread and let go of this grudge you have against me you'd realize this and stop being a whiny little nancy boy. Grow up, I am done arguing with you, not worth it etc.

4e isnt all that bad, it just seems it took 1 step forward making it more newby friendly and 2 steps back taking out and screwing around with content. also favorite class?(just wondering[you can use extra classes from phb2])

...said a clearly angry man to a swarm of invisible bees?
Did a mod swoop in and delete something, or am I just dumb?

Leadpumper- funny, my rogue doesn't seem to realize his absurd combat ability (luckily). It's the swordmage who my party seems to think is most powerful, since lack of precise measurements (playing through IRC without a battle grid makes calculating squares a ♥♥♥♥ chore) has made me turn to using the more antiquated measurement of "if it can hit you with a stick, it's within one square", thus meaning the swordmage hasn't realized that he's pretty weak against enemies that get up close and start wailing on him.
I wish that maptool was more router-friendly...

I was responding to EPOK_PHALE, who was fagging up my thread with his persecution complex just because of a silly grudge he holds against me.

I do not have a grudge against you. It seems quite the opposite, when i just ignore what you say, you respond with insults. Now get back to your precious topic.
