Okay: let me clarify: The dropship engine would be the actor. It would be able to pilot itself. It would be armed with the modified D35 Carbine.

Have you ever seen a drop ship with working, bug free turrets on them anywhere on this forum? Believe me, if it was possible, it would be done. It's a very popular notion. And do you for some reason think Darlos doesn't know what he's doing? Mod threads don't get 100 pages for no reason. I'll bet there's enough information in these pages to learn that you can't weaponize drop ships. Just stop please. Anyway, @Darlos9D: I don't think I ever dropped by this thread to tell you how much I liked the bubble shield thing. Good stuff. All of the ideas that you look forward to doing I greatly look forward to playing. Also, I just noticed that my post was almost exactly the same as Darlos'. Mutual hate of WRONGNESS.

I guess people can't get their heads around the fact that there are other people who know better than them on particular subjects. I take solace in the fact that everyone else around here seems to have some sense of this. Or they know about these things already and therefor have no reason to argue. Bladecat, as others have already iterated, you can't attach actors to dropships, and you can't attach weapons to dropships. And those would be the only two ways to do what you're talking about. So therefor, it's impossible. I have not misunderstood anything you've been trying to say. It's just all wrong, and thats it. Please come to terms with this and stop talking about it.

I find it somewhat sad that a person who has said several times that they cannot mod attempted to argue his point to an experienced top-tier modder.
That said, I anticipate the awesome things you have in store for us when we get full Lua, Darlos. Just the alt-fire alone would be cool as, a giant hulk clone complete with enemy throwing action would be insane.

what he is suggesting is that the drone be a resprited hover drone that looks like the yatagarasu rotor with an akateko attached (in the one sprite) that is wielding the akateko variant of the D35. it would be buggy as hell, but i think that's what he wants, which is possible, however redundant.

It's a very popular notion. i believe one of AAL's dropships have guns that shoot when you press down but it's hard to control that ship (due to lack of down thrusters) and IMPOSSIBLE to hit something without crashing, this is the ONLY dropship with guns i have ever seen in Cortex Command it's IMPOSSIBE to do anything better right now. *impatiently waiting for full support lua*
