ok, im realatively new to modding and the only thing ive done is make an uber shotgun. so i figure "im gonna start spriteing" if someone could explain how to sprite in pallet to me, i would appreciate it, along with that are there any special techniques i should know??

Look at other people's sprites to learn "tricks."

You have to be a perfectionist to be a good spriter.

mainly, just use a sprite that was already implemented into the game, it will only allow colors in the pallete, so its all good.

use the search engine as there are many good threads with spriting advice and tips. if you would like some help take a look at proms sprites and take notes. eg... he is using a couple of blue pixels on the white object to make it blend into the enviroment!

Prom uses heavy amounts of AA between two shades making them blend together better.
Also, when shading, the shadows don't have to be a darker shade of the color you used, they can be just any other color. (If red is your primary color, you don't have to use dark red to shade, you can use any other color.) Example - notice how the shadows are done by using some sort of black.

no, you have to manually AA it. most photoshop stuff doesnt work on indexed images.
