Which stealth suit do you want? There's three of them...

Re: W40k:Tau U-P-D-A-T-E !!!!
Well the easiest one to do would be the XV 22, seeing as stealth is only optional on that one, but until we get lua we won't get proper stealth... Then again we could just get the stealth to emit random goodguy actors that the enemies will shoot at, simulating innaccuracy due to poor visiblity.
So, back to the hivemind mod thingy, I might randomly do spriting occasionally - but that's about it. Anyone else willing to contribute, even occasionally? ...I'll probably be able to do stuff like find pics... yeah...

i agree with the xv 22 but the emiters you suggest would be laggy and difficult to create correctly...

Re: W40k:Tau U-P-D-A-T-E !!!!
we can make this emmiters work but we well have to make the actors than it will emit wheitless/invinsible to us but not to the enemy/with a short lifespan so as they will not fill the map/to emmit around the actor to sheild him/to find a way to remove the healt bar from them(imagine an actor who will be surrounded by 10000 healt bars)/to make then not cound as a unit so as they will not affect the kill count AND to find a way to make then lag-free... so yeah... only the lua will save us for the time being(unless we have a computer genious than will solve all of the above problems)... lets concentrate on the sprites for now...

So, back to the hivemind mod thingy, I might randomly do spriting occasionally - but that's about it. Anyone else willing to contribute, even occasionally? ...I'll probably be able to do stuff like find pics... yeah... The correct solution is to ignore the stealth part entirely, and simply use this for the sake of what I use them for in the table-top. Mini-crisis suits. The stealth suit IS a battlesuit, which means heavier weapons, Gaining access to the fusion blaster and burst cannon, which infantry cannot wield. This is the tau version of a terminator, whereas crisis suits are the tau version of a dreadnaut, and the broadside is like a... some sort of heavy dreadnaut venerable THING. Also, The only time that stealth is OPTIONAL for an XV22 is in dawn of war, In the table-top, the only XV22 is Commander shadowsun, Who, Must be in an army with a MINIMUM of 1500 points, AND MUST have 2 non-twin-linked fusion blasters (Fire independantly) Multi-tracker, Target lock, Stealth field, and a those drones, and these options can NOT be changed. Now the funny thing is, is that In the tau codex, and in imperial armour, it makes mention that, All experimental weapons are in field testing, to add to, or replace existing weapons. Rail-guns are being used experimentally with pathfinders, To eventually replace all pulse-rifles in fire-warriors. ALL of them. The XV22 is an experimental crisis suit to add, or replace, the other stealth suits, OR crisis suits. (fast attack or elite choice with different squad orientations for each?) Point is, stealth isn't optional on the XV22, but we shouldn't bother with stealth, because stealth is a fudge stupid concept for CC to have.

Re: W40k:Tau U-P-D-A-T-E !!!!
i managed to find some tau codex in PDA form(the full books)... there are tau codex version 3(2001) contains many stories abute the tau as well as a lot of information abute the units. it is a fun book to sit back and read and tau codex version 4(2005) contains almost no stories abute the tau BUT it contains a wonderfull amound of tau models and units/weapons specifications i will post them for any1 who wants to download them... it will help us understand the rules/weapons characteristics/units characteristics so as we can make a realistic tau faction without getting flamed to hell from users than play the board version of warhammer... sooo i sugest than EVERY1 than will get involved with the mod must download both codex's as they contain artworks(inspiration for sprites) and rules(ispiration for coding of the weapons/units) tau codex version 3tau codex version 4all files are uploaded for any1 who wants to download them...

You know the spartan laser in Halo 3? why don't you make the digger like that? A shoulder mounted digger hasn't been done yet, in fact I can't see any shoulder mounted guns anywere in CC, probably because you can't but it's an idea

Personally, I hate halo, But maybe if you really want to make it, the DStech blade digger its a good start to understand where goes the shoots... I've made (succesfully) 1 tau plasma digger what works perfect but the glow effects are really crappy, now I don't know if posting it

Personally, I think we should do a a pathfinder and possibly an XV8 before we bother with an XV22. Also, if you need pics they're on page 4 or 5, I forget.
