I don't think the T'au have drop pods. Only soldiers such as the Marines and Orks could survive an orbital drop. The pressure would kill a normal human, never mind a T'au.

Dropships have the problem, that they can be killed way before any soldiers can be dropped.
So yeah, don't mind the canon, just make a droppod.

Well, if done right like the Bear Fed dropship, they can be extremely effective, as long as the engines aren't exposed.

Please put the canon at high priority, and only change it when there is desperately no alternative. Some people can get upset if it's not accurate to the canon (like me). Someone mentioned a devilfish APC and an orca dropship, those can be used. Or...You can justify a Tau droppod with this: In the Dark Crusade computer game Tau have these crane things with thrusters which descends into the battle field to help build a base, so it make sense that they can launch troop transport rockets/droppods from dropships in high altitude, but not from space. grenade wrote: Okey i made all FireWarrior's weapons . Re: W40k:Tau U-P-D-A-T-E !!!!
Sorry for the double posting.
Right now the Fire Warrior looks HUGE and lacks shading. Dunno if it's due to being in pre-production state. Also, I don't think plasma weapons work that way in 40k. It should be a ball/goo of plasma like those in the SM mod, but travels much faster and straighter since it's in Tau. Same for the pulse carbine.
Still looking forward to the full release man!

Re: W40k:Tau U-P-D-A-T-E !!!!
It's pretty good, only the pulse rifle isn't a sniper, it's the standard weapon of the T'au. Carbines are less common, but are used in pathfinder squads and in close combat battles.

Re: W40k:Tau U-P-D-A-T-E !!!!
Pulse rifle = assault rifle Pulse carbine = carbine (lower range) Rail rifle = sniper rifle Pulse pistol = pistol...
More people would probably like this mod if it were more canon or if you got better sprites... (not me) You should probably look at a wiki or something to see how the guns are meant to work...
And burst cannons are only used on battlesuits or vehicles, note that they are different from cyclic ion cannons...

Re: W40k:Tau U-P-D-A-T-E !!!!
the pulse rifle has the stats assault & rapid fire, which means its autofire, the pulse carbine has pinning, which... pins down the enemy. no clue how to make that show up since all weapons in CC have that effect.
also, just because...
I made a tau mod a few builds back, and thought i'd post my sprites.
I made them smaller though, and for a reason:
In the tau codex, there are pictures of Fire-warriors standing next to Guardsmen
The tau are a head and a half SHORTER than imperial guard, while yes, there weapons should be big compared to the tau, the tau themselves should also be smaller. In CC they should be about 6-12 pixels shorter than all other actors, weapons scaled accordingly.
Also, i know the fusion blaster is fudge ugly.
