   |   False positive with Avast4Just a note to all who use Avast, the latest version of the database marks CortexCommand.exe as a generic trojan. The irony of a November 2008 release being marked a trojan almost three months later makes me grin ... though I hate Avast forbidding me to run the game. If you have Avast4, please report this as a false positive by trying to run the game and clicking in the lower right-hand corner. To force immediate submission of the executable, right-click the Avast icon and choose the "Updating > iAVS Update" menuitem. I have already done this, but added pressure might speed things up. I know of no workaround to let anyone play the game, except to pause the resident scanner.

   |   Re: False positive with Avast4I always thought Avast was the superior security suite. Thank you for updating me about this crucial security risk. The CortexCOMMAND.exe executable will be removed post haste!

   |   Re: False positive with Avast4Technically, this is the only false-positive I have had in the entire time I've used Avast. So that's roughly 1.5 years of no viruses and no false positives for me. I wouldn't call that a bad track record, just an inconvenience.
Besides, I'm sure it's the heuristic looking at the copy protection Data wrote that makes it think CortexCommand is a trojan.

   |   Re: False positive with Avast4Probably has to do with the fact that the game checks the key server every time it starts up.

   |   Re: False positive with Avast4I just had this problem my self. A few exceptions later and it's all better.
Although I'm adding this to my list of reasons I INTENSELY DISLIKE SCANCODE.

   |   Re: False positive with Avast4If data used the crappy install maker than avast WILL pick it up as a trojan, for good reason. Most install creators out there place a nice trojan into it. The one I had did anyway :/ and I payed for it!

   |   Re: False positive with Avast4Data paid 1500 dollars for the license on the new sound system.
I don't think he used a shitty ukrainian .msi creator that comes with sixteen trojans.

   |   Re: False positive with Avast4All these warnings are due to the copy protection as far as I know.A good amount of copy protection systems encrypt the exe and have it auto-decrypt, a behavior also done by Trojans to avoid detection.

   |   Re: False positive with Avast4Yeah,
I currently think that Grif and mail's theory about avast getting upset when CC connects to the net for the licensing system is the most likely candidate. If I was an antivirus program I'd get antsy if some program kept connecting to the internet without asking whenever it started.

DAMNIT SCANCODE WE DON'T NEED FORT KNOX SECURITY FOR TWENTY BUCKS OF GAME!
Not to mention the fact that $10,000 audio programs with security systems as ludicrous as this (cubase) don't register as viruses.
