I love things that glow in games, for some really weird reason. Now, can someone please tell me, why? Why is my favorite game, Cortex Command, completely devoid of glow?!

I take it you've absolutely no fudging idea what I'm on about, so take a look at this pic...


Now, the gold in my game looks nowhere near as glow as that. Is this normal? I get glowiness with modded weapons like Shook's plasma cannon, but not with others like Shook's Unirape laser.

Does no-one have this effect?

glow like that is turned off. wow, this complaint should have been made from the start of B22 if you noticed it. go download B21 if you want glows, just dont expect mods to work or there to be good vanilla effects.. basically, this was turned off cause data was doing it in a very inefficient way, causing bitchloads of lag, so he disabled it.

There is hope for b23, more likely it'll be in the mid summer build. Those may be the same build.

Ah, that's great news, I love the effect. By then I should at least have a better GPU

please note that gpu affects CC to a minimal extent. most of the issues with lag are CPU-based unoptimisation issues, not rendering problems. you might get better speeds on an eye-rape bomb though

Hm, that looks nicer than the glows we can attach to particles now... and if I remember, there where only three colors that would glow. If Data intends to get that working, will there be more colors? I think a nice red glow at least would be a good idea...

It's the same glows. That's an old image.

I mean that the gold twinkles whereas the glows now are static.

the gold looks nicer < the game runs fine.
once we can have both, twinkly colours will be back. for now, i dont even think its on the to-do.

Wow the lack of glowing gold totally sliped past me!
But the glowing did cause large amounts of lag, hope it gets optimised, now whenever I play it's like there is a void:-( .
