Re: The Completion Of Cortex Command?
He is/has been working on it, but there's no guarantee that it's anything more than a minor project.
Oh, and it is 3d.
Besides, guys, he has a real job now. Not gonna be working on CC as much, but I still doubt that the first iteration of Cortex Command will still be a beta by the end of the year.

Re: The Completion Of Cortex Command?
2009 sounds like a reasonable goal. I guess that the campaign will be released as a whole rather than a mission per mission basis?

Re: The Completion Of Cortex Command?
I think once CC is finished he'll recycle and/or sell the engine, so we'll have lots of similar-but-totally-different games.

Re: The Completion Of Cortex Command?
By the time Cortex Command is done it will pretty much be the engine.

Re: The Completion Of Cortex Command?
that doesnt make any sense CJ. elaborate. expansion packs would be cool, it would be basically the same as finding a new good mod, but at first-party quality.

Re: The Completion Of Cortex Command?
With all of the things being added that will expand modding, you could pretty much make an entirely new game in Cortex Command. Even if he released the engine, any game made with it would essentially be the exact same thing as Cortex Command with different paint, and since mods are free, there would be no reason to have a bunch of clones.

Re: The Completion Of Cortex Command?
Actually, that's mis-informed. the engine I'm referring to is the system of Held Devices, the way actors work MO stuff and the physics of all of them. cortex command as a game adds in brains and stuff.
you could make a totally different Death-match soldat thing.
Or a game like lemmings.
or various puzzle games with things that get crushed.
and doing that IN cortex command is a bit tricky.

Re: The Completion Of Cortex Command?
We won't be able to decide that for sure until the game is finished.

Re: The Completion Of Cortex Command?
You already made up your mind. See, up there, where you made an unequivocal statement?
