And sometime in the future I will be modifying the gun to make a sentry-turret deployer. Eventually.

Re: Asplode Corp
i dig it. You mind if i sketch up some stuff for the mod? I have an idea for look of the drop pod, and i'm sure that will lead to other, half-related doodles of varying usefulness.

Re: Asplode Corp
well, if any of this can be used, then here you go. Attachment:
[The extension jpg has been deactivated and can no longer be displayed.]
In descending order or value: Concept A: A lawn-dart style drop pod that sticks straight into the earth, gouging a big puncture wound into the terrain. I don't know if this would be possible, but if the craft could, when it hits the earth, have the turret on top become activated (possibly just a very specialized "thruster" with a long, long reach?) and could thereby be used as support fire before the doors open. Sort of like the vanilla drop crate, but with a thruster made to look and behave like a faster-firing gauss-rifle. It could, in theory, deploy two soldiers. The little thrusters on the bottom were afterthoughts that could possibly accelerate or decelerate the pod as it screams toward the surface. Concept B: Pretty generic and dependable, hatches open along the dotted line. Meant for one soldier Concept C: Just a fun idea, i thought of the most low-rent drop pod imaginable (since these guys are sort of meant to be pieced together from junk): a floor-to-ceiling style gun safe tossed out of an orbiting ship. I imagine the actor inside having to shoot their way out of it from the inside, so maybe once it hit the ground it could gib into the twisted-up bent version which occludes the soldier inside, then it's just a destroyable object the payload must find their own way out of. I'm thinking it would cost 1 gold and weigh about 3 tons.

I like B a lot. I'm afraid A is not yet possible.

Re: Asplode Corp
Thanks for all the feedback guys, I'll start thinking on my own concepts for the drop-pod, although Allen's drawings will certainly be inspiration. I'm liking B and C's shape, and C's concept.
Also, thanks to Rashaln for the gif, it's going in the OP right now. (with credit of course.)

Re: Asplode Corp
grab some of the drop-ship gib sprites and glue them together into a drop-pod like in B, but with more jagged edges. i imagined the original scrap monster made of huge rended bits of metal, some of which look like a few of the drop ship gibs, so that could temporarily satiate me. also, when the drop-pods gib there should be mild scrappy wreckage around. i would love these guys to have bunker modules that blended with normal terrain but contained junkyards. oh wow i just had images <3 ive always loved these. DLing now, i got a new copy of CC just to test these.

Re: Asplode Corp
Bumpdate, added the Beast Minigun, the machinegun for the oyster.
Fires sharp light bullets and the occasional TDExplosive (1 in 5) round at low velocities and at a high RoF.
Short range, does nasty things to anything you point it at with exceptions to terrain.
Don't fire it too close to yourself.
