Post Lokson Innovation Inc.: Unidirectional Attack Drone (idea)
I don't know how to mod, yet there are units that I want to use in CC, so I'm just throwing out ideas, see if anyone's free enough to make them into real mods(though the chance is slim). This isn't innovative or what, but what the heck.

An air-to-surface-only attack craft. It is ordered from the craft buy list, and can be controlled freely by the player upon arrival. It is armed with a small fixed firearm that only aim downwards(fired by left click) and a kamikaze attack(activated by down button).
(See diagram below for more detailed descriptions)
Image
It looks like an inverted rocket eh? That doesn't matter because it's just a concept. Anyway, since both attacks are unidirectional, you must fly the drone over enemies' heads to get a hit. Also, it does not deliver cargo, for its only purpose is an air defense platform, and a sure-kill weapon for tough units.

So eh...Thanks for reading this....Thread...That's about it, feel free to throw in comments...Though this isn't a mod...Stuff...

It's possible, although the gun at the bottom would have to be a thruster.

I'd make it, but I'm not only too lazy, I also have no experience with craft at all.

Can't it replace the door? Well, I have no experience in modding at all, so...That might be a dumb question.

This may be really hard to make or control. If you make it a rocket, it will be really hard to control. If it's a drop ship, you wont be able to accelerate down fast. And the downward machine gun thing is also hard to make, but if you adapt BlipFlip's assualt drone code a tad, you may be able to make it compatible with b22 and also working. Would be best as a rocket I guess. Make the main thruster a one that emits from two places, both of the nozzles, retro thruster are retro thrusters and side thruster are weak side trusters somewhere around the upper corners of the thing to make it easier to fly. It would still be very hard to control tho'.

It can't be a dropship? Detachable thrusters as in the side thrusters of the normal dropships and with the two little thrusters for control.

The downward thrusters will turn into an emitter after pressing down button, propelling the ship hull automatically, not related to any existing thrusters on a normal dropship. Then we'll get controlability.

Pressing down only makes the side thrusters emit slower.

What if you made it a dropship so when it gibbed (probably by scuttling for more control), it attached and emitter to the top of the upside-down rocket to propel it downwards? The engines would then be able to fly off and seperate. I don't know what you would do about the machine gun though...

Personally I just load up a drop ship with tons of bombs and air strike things. :)

... I'm going to need bigger bombs!

I do like your drill idea though... would certainly make breaking into bases easier.

Isn't the lowered thrust a separate emitter?

Don't dropships have different muzzleflashes for strong and weak thrusts? If so, I suppose you could attach an emitter to those, but then there's the issue of emitters piling up.
