I concur. Great job Data. Although a list of what the AI is currently capable of would be very appreciated too at the moment.

While I can't give a list, the AI is definately far smarter than previous builds. Now they seem to be about as intelligent as a very dumb dog. An example:

In one game, I had a set of stairs that led down to my brain room, which was guarded by a Pelian Army shot gun turret. You could reach the brain room either by making your way through the rocket silo, dropping down a small shaft, and walking through a corridor to the stairs, or dropping in through a hanger placed above the brain vault and walking to the left, dropping down a shaft, and turning 180 degrees to face the vault.

Well, the enemies kept coming (My defenses were destroyed and they had dug their way through the fortifications I had placed), and I was controlling the turret. Every time an enemy made their way to the top of the stairs, they were promptly shotgunned to pieces. Eventually a large pile of body parts, dummy limbs, random gibs, and especially weapons was blocking the entrance.

The AI showed remarkable intelligence compared to most games, though not particularly intelligent decisions.. They first tried to climb over the mound, to no avail. The people on the hanger corridor tried to use pulse diggers and Dummy diggers to carve through the floor right into the brain vault, thought it took about a minute each for them to realize that they couldn't dig through the thick concrete and metal, even after they clipped each other with their diggers a few times. However, when they realized they chopped off a buddy's leg, they would stop immediately, then proceed again.

The crowning achievement came when one of the blonde Ronins got an idea to just pull out a heavy digger and disintegrate the pile of gibs. As he pulled out the digger, two Coalition clones behind him followed him while another covered the rear with his shotgun. By chance, a frag grenade was lodged in the center of the pile. Not halfway through turning the body parts to powder there was a massive BANG and a spray of sparks. Nobody was injured, as the remains of the mound absorped the shrapnel, but they were clearly surprised. The Ronin immediately stopped digging and put away his digger to climb over the mound again, and the other three soldiers turned to face the noise.
