Yes, it is cool for the enemies to be smart... but, my reason for posting is the allied ai!! Omg, they won't even fire with gatling guns, and basically I can't take my eyes off my soldiers, or they die! The new attaching movement points to actors fails horribly when 2 soldiers set on one guy, and I keep seeing my own guys running into the rockets, trying to avoid fire, but only owning themselves, and all the other actors around them!

So yeah, tell me your stories of bad/good A.I. performance. It would be nice to upload a gif too.


EDIT: I forgot to give you guys a good example of a story with smart A.I.: Basicaly, I caught a dummy trying to get to my brain, so I threw a grenade at him, to my surprise :o , he threw it back! So I threw it back, and it ended up becoming pass the grenade, until finally, it exploded in mid pass, and killed both of the actors!

Wow, great story.

The thing that bothers me most is that none of the guys on the battlefield have a brain. Or at least a complete brain. They have enough cerebral cortex function to walk, jetpack, and shoot, but the stability section seems to have been removed. All my guys just fall over or sit down if I switch control away from them. The only way to keep them standing is to lean them up against a wall.
Rockets do this too, except when they fall over they explode, so that can be a bigger problem :/
Also, did their side thrusters get nerfed? They feel really weak. I used to be able to flip a rocket back rightside up, but now I can't...

probably for it to be safer.

just now a stray rocket flew over my actors head and singed him a bit, but took out the 6 enemies i was fighting. it was epichuge. and very convenient, i was losing.
i hate how the AI crouch all the time in sentry mode. hate it.

I reconfigured the rockets. You can still get your rocket to stand back up if it falls on its side by using the retro thrusters at the same time your using the side thrusters to get back up.

Using the thrusters in bursts helps greatly.


Ontopic:
In zombie cave I had a fun moment in the beginning when I came to the field with the crater and some zombies in it. I had the repeller gun with me so I could chuck the bombs back at them when a zombie threw one at me.

And then one of the zombies saw me and threw a bomb at me, I quickly repelled it and the zombie picked it up. But instead of throwing it at me again, it rushed to the other zombies who were packed in a nice bunch near the entrance.

He blew up, taking out the entire gang. Funny traitor zombie. :p

When i was balancing my mod , i was shooting from my rocket launcher in a PA Mars . When he was 17 HP and zombies ( i use zombies activites from ModMaking's thread) . He was so afraid that he will die so he had trembled for 3 seconds . I forgot to screenshot because i was laughting + this was fast bug .

Not particularly funny, but every time I assign an actor as a digger and set him waypoints to go through gold patches, he decides it'll be MUCH faster if he crawls back out of his hole, walks along the map, and then goes down.

best AI moment I've had so far though was when I was playing against my brother.
He had a blue clone and a pulse digger, and I was sending dummies with heavy or pulse diggers after him. Using the AI.
It was funny, because the way points suggested my soldiers would follow the clone's path exactly...
But instead they went sort of in a more logical direction. Sadly, they got stuck a lot. I ended up taking control of the nearest dummy and getting him myself, the current AI logic just can't handle the whole digging thing just yet.
