Re: Darkstorm Mini-Mappack is here!
It's a folder and a one-line addition to the index.ini of Darkstorm pointing to loading the scenes from that folder.

Re: Darkstorm Mini-Mappack is here!
Yeah. Since it's loading modules from Darkstorm in the scens (the Darkstorm Shishi turrets), it has to actually save the scenes into the Darkstorm.rte.
Since the default Darkstorm folder contains no scenes, there's no Scenes folder or scenes.ini. This adds both a scenes folder (containing the .ini's for each specific scene) in addition to the Scenes.ini and index.ini required to get them to function properly.
Basically, this is adding everything you'd have to add yourself if you created a new scene loaded out of the Darkstorm.rte.

Re: Darkstorm Mini-Mappack is here!

Re: Darkstorm Mini-Mappack is here!
Really, it's not as complicated as people are making it out. Maybe it's not as dumbed down simple as other people's mods, but I attribute that to me being a new modder and not knowing exactly what format works best for this community.
As an aside, B22 probably broke this stuff anyway, so I'll wait for things to die down conversion wise and re-release this when appropriate.

Re: Darkstorm Mini-Mappack is here!
(This is for the beginners) Ok, basically Darlos9D added some new units to DarkStorm after this pack was released, but the existing index.ini killed that causing the mod itself to error. A better way would have been to just tell the user to add the include line himself to DarkStorm.rte/Index.ini pointing to the scenes folder. I mean, they already had to do it for the maps objects, what's one extra line??
I made an update to the map pack, which makes it B22 compatible and doesn't wreck the newest release of DarkStorm. As I wrote, though, future releases of this map pack should not overwrite Index.ini.
(The attached file also restores the original DS Index.ini so it will fix it if you haven't reinstalled DS)
(Looks like DS has been updated again... pulled the file)

I'm amazed that big blast door is still kicking around, it's one the only attempts at modding I ever tried...

Re: Darkstorm Mini-Mappack is here!
I think it'd be pretty awesome to make a mission out of these, but the player must attack and either steal something from inside or kill the brain, or even both!

Re: Darkstorm Mini-Mappack is here!
Can you make a version without the darkstorm turrets? they're no fun and pretty unnecesary if you ask me, you can easily place them yourself if you have the darkstorm mod, and all this butthurt could be prevented.
