Xbox 360 has Splitscreen play. http://uk.media.xbox360.ign.com/media/875/875936/vids_1.htmlThese videos also demonstrate the joys of playing as the Infected.

Demo release date annnounced as November 11th, but if you've preordered, on Steam or at Gamestop, you get to play the demo on the 6th.
Gonna be so awesome...

Re: Left 4 Dead
Demo? As in like, one map? That sounds like a waste of effort.
Oh and if anybody is to play the 360 version, I call the fudging black dude.

Re: Left 4 Dead
Demo is the first 2 levels from the No Mercy campaign.
Gameplay videos of this suggest tight urban spaces and/or sewers.
Also the replayability aspect of the game will probably keep us going the 12 days until the full release.

Re: Left 4 Dead
Well, I heard about the game for the 2nd time (first was about a year ago, when I first thought "sounds cool, but I doubt they'll pull it off") from this thread, got amazingly hooked, have been obsessing for days, and just now realized that there's this cool thread back in good old DR that I should be posting in.
I'm quite excited, really. Valve knows how to make a good game. I don't care about how many marginally different copies you can make of a single weapon type (seriously, the weapons from CoD4 were quite nearly functionally identical according to group), I want variety of functionality. Weapons in L4D consist of a pump-action shotty (upgrade to full auto), an SMG and upgraded SMG (I forget the names, since I don't much care about them), and a hunting rifle, which I strongly suspect will be one of my favorite weapons of all time. Also, pistols, either dual or single.
It's one of the most interesting gameplay concepts I've seen in a very long time from a developer's point of view, and I'm quite happy that it's Valve behind the wheel. It's going to be a good time.

Re: Left 4 Dead
Sorry if the names escape me, but I refer to the characters as follows: Old Dude, Woman, Black Dood, and Biker Dude.
And if the human team is full, I'm definately going tank, chucking cars at survivors sounds entertaining.

Re: Left 4 Dead
Bill is the 'nam vet, Francis is the biker, Louis is the black guy and Zoey is the spoiled rich girl.
Also, given the Tank's power to ♥♥♥♥ up the survivors, the AI director decides when a Tank appears, and randomly offers it to one of the infected players.
So you can't just "go Tank".

Re: Left 4 Dead
What does QFE mean?
I can cite sources for everything I've said in this thread, I'm not just idly speculating, if that's what you're accusing me of.
Also, if you have a computer that can run it on good settings, I recommend the PC version, which from gameplay videos shown so far looks graphically superior by far.
