Re: Melon Racer
I already knew it was from the number of rotations (Like winding up a toy), but I didn't know you could fix it by going backwards.
I wonder if there is some inventive use of coding that can measure how many times it spins, and display it, so we know when it breaks.... maybe something like the net gain of the angular velocity which is recorded every frame??

Re: Melon Racer
I had a little trouble of understanding what the hell was going on when I first ran this from the campaign map. It took me a few tries to figure out that youre supposed to move by spinning wildly and jumping on occasions.
I also managed to exploit the checkpoint/finish line by jumping right at the part where the goal is and it threw me waaayyy over the cliff and to the other side of the river so I managed to skip it all together.
Funny mod still. : p

Re: Melon Racer
Cheat this, exploit that, nuke this, it's always the same.
Anyway, glad you enjoyed it. I need some ideas.
I know how to "Luatize" guns within a scene, so that pretty much opens a whole new dimension.
Share your thoughts.

Re: Melon Racer
Well first of I think you should fix the goal size since I just played and looped through the level like 6 times because my melon apperantly missed the goal and was flung out to the other side of the river as usual.
As for a Lua powered gun, how about a gun that teleports the user behind the nearest enemy? Should be fun I think.

Lua in guns? Would it be possible to make Portal maps?

Re: Melon Racer
I would make a portal gun, but I don't know how to create or move areas in Lua.
As for Teleporting behind the nearest enemy.... don't know how to do proximity checks and stuff. (I could probably make it pick a random enemy on the map, check which way it is HFlipped and Teleport you accordingly... or teleport something else... >:) )

Re: Melon Racer
If you can do it, I'm for a telenade where you teleport to wherever the nade explodes. I suggest one for on impact destruction and a timed one. Timed would be good for getting into narrow holes while impact good for quick access.

Re: Melon Racer
I like this mod. It's a bit odd.
I'd also like to report a glitch.
Sometimes when I play, eventually it stops rolling. It still moves and jumps, but stops rolling.

Re: Melon Racer
That bug was mentioned in the first post and has been talked about throughout this thread.
Please read the thread before posting.
Also, Zalo, what exactly is the extent of your ability to Luaificate guns?

Re: Melon Racer
I'm not sure, give me examples, and I'll tell you if I can do them. And then I'll tell you if it were possible. And I'll give the "Tele-nade" some thought.

Re: Melon Racer
I like this, it's cool and fun. and innovative. but i found another glitch not yet mentioned in this thread- sometimes when i am playing, it ceases to give me points when i go through the goal. it does on occasion, but after a seemingly random number of laps.
