Re: Metroid mod
Don't worry, I known Nick from another forum. He's just a bad troll.
I actually quite like the actor sprites.

Re: Metroid mod
I like the Samus sprite, it gives it that 3-D-ish look in the classic 3-D games. The weapons can use some work, like sounds, or a different sprite for the missile launcher where the firing end is opened up. Nice first mod, and enjoy the rest of Datarealms!

Re: Metroid mod
Change the weapon color and offsets to better suit Samus' original sprite orientation and add glow to your beam/change the type of ammo it fires to be more reminiscent of the original type.

Re: Metroid mod
Sprite: The Head looks a bit... odd. It looks like it's looking at a 3/4 perspective, not looking forward. Also, it's a bit large, either shrink it and lose quality, or make everything else slightly bigger.
I can't download it right now, my comp's being odd on me, but here are a few tips for making a good Samus:
Jetpack: rather than an actual jetpack, have a short, strong burst, to simulate Samus's space jump.
Attachables: Maybe Shoulder pads. If posible, make the helmet an attachable and have Samus's head under it. If you really want a challenge, make the entire suit out of attachables, and have Zero-Suit Samus underneath.
Other Suits: Once this one's done, I encourage you to make the other variants of Samus's suit. The gravity suit would be fairly easy (higher mass, better jumpjets, no/less fall damage) but some of the others might be harder to make.
I'll dl and try out the weapons when my comp stabilizes, until then, keep up what appears to be good work!

Re: Metroid mod
Cunning bastard, I knew progress like that is really rare!
Freaking references, well at least they contribute to initial sprite quality, but I wonder about sprites using no reference.
