Re: Left 4 Dead
Good gravy, you guys are looking way too damn deep into this thing. Get from point A to point B with as many of your friends as possible with lots of flesh eating ♥♥♥♥ coming your way, and huge deformed monstrosities with no other objective than to kill you. As your friends get picked off, the instinct to survive gets so damn strong I'm certain you'll be immersed in the game.
STOP ANALYZING THAT THING, ♥♥♥♥ SHOOT IT!
Dammit this'll be fun.

That would be fun.
Guy in a wheelchair would be AWESOME, especially if he lived in a junkyard and is paranoid, and has thus armored it so he's like a living tank.

Re: Left 4 Dead
I preordered this game as soon as they let me give them my money... just cos... It's not like I can play it any sooner but seeing it on my steam list makes me happy XD
I also think it's very possible that they'll do achievement based unlocks like with TF2 but it'll arrive at valve pace so not any time soon.
Also the AI director is a thing of beauty and will certainly be the next big thing in gaming.

Re: Left 4 Dead
YOU'RE getting old.
Anyways, there have been a lot of zombie games but not in the setting that this one's giving. I agree that the genre has been overdone but the problem is, there haven't been any solid zombie survival games. Maybe this one will give the community just what they need. Especially since it'll be moddable, I can only imagine what this game will be like 6 months after its release with all the custom community content.

Other than mods, name a recent zombie game other than dead space.

The game was later ported onto the PlayStation 2 in October 2005, and for the PC and Wii in June 2007. It's only recent if you count the PC release as being new.

Re: Left 4 Dead
Lets hope that this will be what Resident Evil Outbreak was meant to be.
Zombie survival games are more often than not a single player experience to give you that all alone feel but this will hopefully fill that coop gap that's been missing. It's also by the Half Life/Counter Strike team so you know that there will be solid action gunplay.
Someone was complaining about realism on another forum but not everyone wants every game to be Operation Flash Point.

Damn I'm hungry, I could go for some brain salad right about now...
Oh, is there any info on cross-platform antics and shenanigans?

Oh, is there any info on cross-platform antics and shenanigans? No, PC would have an advantage due to mouse + keyboard > controller.
