Post A task for you...
Right, so i've got a monitor for my new pc.
All i need now is, well... the pc =]
I've been doing a lot of searching browsing or whatever and cougar extreme seem to be the best choice for me... (UK)
So, my task to everyone out there who knows their stuff about computers (everyone but me!) is to try and custom build the best PC possible on their site for around £700...
I'm looking to play the latest games so best graphics card i can get. Also at least a 500GB hard drive.
I'm also thinking Intel Core Duo with Nvidia... See what you can do people =]
GO, GO, GO

I have ended up with this after some playing around...

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16 GHz 6Mb Cache,
4GB Kingston DDR2 667 - 2 x 2GB single modules,
750GB SATA Hard Drive,
550Watt Silent Upgrade PSU,
2 x 512MB 9800GTX+ Nvidia DDR3 DVI,
QC - Asus P5N-E SLI - 1066FSB-DDR2 800x4 SLI Nforce 650i-Firewire,
2 x DVD+/- RW - 18X Samsung Lightscribe,
Wireless Optical Deskset DS-3400D,
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 4 PCI 7.1,
Trust 2.1 SP-2350 Speaker Set,
13 Month Warranty,
Free Carriage

Anyone else care to give opinions/improve? :???:

In b4 someone moves the topic-
For around $1500, core duo won't be necessary- get a quad-core.
You can buy a pretty ♥♥♥♥ sweet machine for around that much.

Except quad core won't be worth it for a little while longer. I'd spend your money on a duo, chill for six months, and use the left over monies to buy a great quad.

Yeah i looked in to duo and quad. For the time being apps don't use all 4 so it would be a bit of a waste, especially as seperately they aren't very powerful as they are usually around the 2ghz mark...
I'll get Duo, 3.16Ghz probably.
:)

Oh yeah, the site is http://www.cougar-extreme.co.uk
