Solarace: Proycon Council (Alenth Approved)
I was told by Alenth to post this. So I finally am.
If you guys want to talk to me on IRC, I'm usually on the datarealms server in #solaraceA bit of story: Around 250af (after formation [of the Lrak Combine]) unknown alien ships attacked and destoryed many out lying colonies/outposts, but the Lrak Combine v. Rediar Federation war was still in full blown combat and naval commanders don't have time for silly ghost stories from unaligned colonies. By 259af the LC and RF combined have lost 5 solar systems along with the Independent Worlds Alliance which lost a total of 6. The LC and RF have been forced call a cease fire because the aliens, called Vancellen, are steam rolling them. This is the name of the game, they made a Compact (agreement etc.) to save their empires in the Procyon galaxy. (I thought it was a good name) Now. Onto some screenshots for you guys. http://www.shoopdawhoop.com/vckarl/s-pc ... shot41.PNGhttp://www.shoopdawhoop.com/vckarl/s-pc ... shot40.PNGhttp://www.shoopdawhoop.com/vckarl/s-pc ... shot38.PNGhttp://www.shoopdawhoop.com/vckarl/s-pc ... shot36.PNGThis game is hugely inspired by EV:Nova, because right after I finally finished a storyline in EVN, I started work on this game. (Roughly mid-May of this year.) It has demi-newton physics, theres no drag but there IS a top speed to keep things sane. Please keep in mind that this game is still under development, it's not even beta yet. Not all the features I plan to have are in it yet, no matter how far I've made progress in other areas. I haven't even STARTED on the mission system. So if you want to try it out, head over to my forum and find the latest build. (Currently Build 31) http://iontrailpro.b1.jcink.com/index.php?showforum=6Feel free the join the forum and post bugs/suggestions and your mods. Thanks for your guys time.

Well, err... the music sounds fine. After that the game hangs since it cannot load some flea.txt file. I like the screens though.

Looks pretty good; I'll dl and test it. Even if it looks a bit similar to battleships forever, I like how you tied in the Lrak from your CC mod.

I wish DRL had a shout box. (:-;)
This is better than Flash Trek 2, mainly because it seems it doesn't have the abusable feature, buying cheap stuff from 'ship A' and sell it for profit at 'ship B', until you're rich enough to destroy and conquer planets.

Re: Solarace: Proycon Compact (Alenth Approved)
..But you CAN buy cheap stuff at planet A, and sell it at planet B... That's how trading is supposed to work and I don't see what's so abusable about it. Thanks for the comments.

I think he means oversights where you don't need to travel much/at all to do it.
PS: Did you ever get my ship descriptions?

Merchant faction needs, super expensive, ungodly large cargo ships.

Now that I think about it, I think this'll become a 2D version of Freelancer.

If so, I wholeheartedly support this game without having played it yet. FL is THE space sim in my life. Don't worry, I'll test it out soon and tell you what I think, I'm not a bugger.

This. Game. ROCKS. I love it. It IS like a 2D freelancer, except easier to mod. If you ever decide to make this money-cost, I would pay for it.
