Especially vehicles that can be manned with multiple bodies in different slots or so. And with the same system we could be able to make large powerful weapons that require 2 bodies to carry/fire. Or a transport craft to move multiple units safely without the worry of moving them all seperately. Some of you guys dont see the stuff that vehicles would bring us so shut the hell up. Just a translation if anyone is interested: W0w00t wrote: the vehicle in Mass Effect. (Description from wikipedia and ingame encyclopedia) The M35 MakoThe 'Mako' infantry fighting vehicle was designed for the System Alliance's frigates. Through the interior is cramped, an M35 is small enough to be carried in the cargo bay and easily deployed on virtually any world. With its turreted mass accelerator and coaxially-mounted machine gun, the Mako can provide a fire team with weapon support as well as mobility. Since Alliance marines may be required to fight on any world, the Mako is environmentally-sealed and equipped with microthrusters for use on low-gravity planetoids. The Mako is powered by a sealed hydrogen-oxygen fuel cell, and includes a small element zero core. While not large enough to nullify the vehicle's mass, the core can reduce it enough to be safely air-dropped. When used in conjunction with the thrusters, it also allows the Mako to extricate itself from difficult terrain.

Re: Vehincles?
I'm actually seeing a system where an actor jumps on a vehicle, a new option would open up in the ring menu to get in it. If the vehicle gets occupied a "full" flag will pop up (unless there are extra slots in the vehicle), blocking other actors from entering the vehicle. But theres the common issue of AI (always stupid), and the way actors really hate touching each other.
I would want to see this: a) If the player controlled actor is in the vehicle, AI's of the same team (nearby!) will attempt to fill in any "empty" space. However if the player decides to control another body, all of the AI's in the vehicle (including the former player controlled actor) will dismount. b) Locking the #@@( Doors.
Hmmmmm... And then I think about the terrain...

If you don't want to see profanity, don't use substitutes. If others don't like it, they can enable the wordfilter. ONTOPIC: I'd love to see a system allowing actors to escort craft by either having a 'follow until craft leaves screen' or have them be able to attach to the craft until it hits height x, where x is 50 pixels below the 'ceiling'. That'd add some nice flying meatshields.

It's not really a vehicle. It is even less so a vehicle than dropships/rockets are. It can't pickup actors, and could only possibly drop off predefined actors. It has moving legs that look like rolling wheels, with invisible feet, but they're not really rolling wheels. Also the ride is very bumpy and the clearance is insufficient to make it over a lot of ccs debris. I might go back and make that thing less crappy sometime. But it's not going to be an actual vehicle until build 22 or later, if at all.

Re: Vehincles?
Hovertanks, air vehicles and walkers are the only viable 'vehincles' to use in CC, a treaded tank, very iffy. the treads would have to act very realistically and it'd have to be able to climb at least a 45 degree slope to be of any use.
Unless there were to be a scene or a bunker tile which is indestructible, wheels are pretty much a definite no. But modders will always try to make any measure of vehicle. You never know. It might not be useful, but it'd be fun to have a fast, but tracked vehicle in CC.
I don't think there should be any transports other than dropships/rockets/other craft, though. Ground vehicles should have the capacity for maybe a driver and a gunner, if they're gonna be piloted by clones, but an APC would be silly. There would be too much management involved in getting all the actors out and actually doing something useful, and there probably wouldn't be enough actors used by a player to fill one.
A cool idea, though, would be having something like Tribes 2's bomber, or some of the vehicles in Halo 1/2/3 where there's a pilot/driver and a gunner, but then people can sit/stand on/in the vehicle and use their personal weapons (I'd call these tailgunners, as in T2). These actors would be controlled by the AI until ejected. They'd have to be able to see behind them and turn to face the enemies to be of help, though.
I could just imagine now, though, a mission where you have to get your brain from point A to point B, but there's no available air transport for whatever reason, so the brain is loaded into some kind of armoured vehicle, and you get 4 clones or so (1 driver, 1 gunner, 2 Tailgunners) slap them in a vehicle and have to outrun loads of enemies in an epic chase to get to a secure bunker.

But thats the thing.
Any vehicle with working wheels or treads would be impossible. Do you hear me, or did you hear anyone else with basic brain functions who said the EXACT SAME THING in this topic?! I-M-P-O-S-S-I-B-L-E!!!
Dammit, does anyone take a hint on this godforsaken board?!
