I keep getting an error when I try to replace the activities file with one of the ones you included in your mod.

Have you considered replacing any current guns in the pack? If you ask me, having an AKM is a little silly considering we already have the AK-47, and really the only difference in real life is just either a stamped or milled receiver. Same with having both the M4 and M16 in the same pack. Maybe you should do a little more variety? I would replace the M16 with an AR-10.

Is there any real functional difference between the two?

But hey, that's bound to change one way or the other.

Noted. :)
I am not good at spriting actors yet, but I'll practice and they will, like you said, probably change in future versions. :)

@Sodaz, I do hope that you're not overwriting the original activities.ini in your base.rte with one of mine! That would certainly give errors, yup.

The original activities.ini has these activities:
AddActivity = SceneEditor
InstanceName = Test Editor
AddActivity = GibEditor
InstanceName = Test Editor
AddActivity = ActorEditor
InstanceName = Test Editor
AddActivity = GATutorial
InstanceName = Test Editor
AddActivity = GABaseDefense
InstanceName = Test Activity
AddActivity = GABaseDefense
InstanceName = Default Activity
AddActivity = GABaseDefense
InstanceName = Skirmish Defense
While mine only have:

AddActivity = GABaseDefense
InstanceName = Skirmish Defense

You need to disable the AddActivity = GABaseDefense bit in your base.rte activities.ini in order to use mine. Just change the InstanceName "Default Activity" to something else. That should do the trick.

PM me if you need an original activities.ini replacement.

@Magnnus: Same goes for you. I just noticed how a test activity is missing in your activities file, so you've probably overwritten it?

To make it clear: My activities.ini files do not have to leave the sanctuary within my mod. They're loaded through the index.ini. You just have to rename "Skirmish Defense" within your base.rte/activities.ini to something else.

Easiest way to change activities is to leave the base.rte activities alone but disable it in the base.rte's index.ini. Then, disable the activities in all mods besides the one you want.
Gotcha!, it doesn't matter about the different parts of activities, afaik the skirmish definition is all that's used.

Will you make any UniTec crafts like droppods, rockets, cruisers, dropships ect?
Also the only activities file this is missing is all-in-one activities. Doom, unitec, C:NR and Coalition, all at once invading you.

If I had the skill, I would, numgun. :???:
But all I've made is a copy of the standard dropship with gray/yellow colours and a UniTec logo on it. :oops: I doubt I'll ever come to making my own ships/rockets.

I should try though since crafts are like actors and are made out of components. On actors its limbs and a jetpack, and rockets have emitters instead of limbs.

Rockets are somewhat easy, dropships are bit more complex but still simple. The hardest thing I see in craft making is the thruster balancing so that the craft would fly well.

Btw, can we see a screenie of the DS recolor? If its even good, then a few variable tweaks to make it stronger might even make it worth playing with unlike with the same old crafts were used to.

Sure, but you have been warned about the quality. :grin:

Basically just a simple recolour. Very simple even, since I've grayscaled most parts of it.

Goddamn, that looks much cooler than the default dropship!
Please include that with a few similar tweaks to make it tough just like on the actors you did. Higher gib limit and such. The shield wound line on the silencer would also suit it quite well.

Also on the both engine emitters, make the particle count higher for those and the ship will be able to carry more!

I'll see what I can do. :)
I am having a break with this mod anyway so I can return to mapping for a while.

Bigger bullets. It would be nice if it was a scoped AR-10 as well.

Hey Gotcha, get on MSN and I'll give you a few ideas if you're making new rockets/dropships.

EDIT: And the molotov and reflective shield are from the collection of all the mods before the wipe, you sneaky you.

Actually, the molotov and shields are from Tosty, who has been credited.
The AR15, Sub1, IC1 and P7 are also his doing, with modest modifications from myself. The new grenade codes are his as well.
I don't steal without permission. Really. :grin:

And, about msn, I am always on when I am at home. Even when 'busy'. I am always 'busy' to avoid specific people. :lol: Just give me a ring.
