   |   AI DiscussionAI Discussion Thread Talk about the AI here, such as problems, glitches, weird stuff, etc. In this screenshot, an Enemy Blue Clone had gotten into the base and targeted by the Heavy Soldier(Top Half) Once Targeted, the Enemy Blue Clone went prone behind a corpse, avoiding a hail of bullets from the Heavy Soldier. In both halves of the picture, you can also see an enemy soldier prone behind another corpse. This soldier had also dodged the Heavy Soldier's bullets the same way. Is this a coincedince, or is that how the AI works?

   |   Re: Enemy AI Using Effective CoverThat's intresting. My enemies never do that at all.
 Even with cover.

   |   Re: Enemy AI Using Effective CoverI'm guessing it was starting to crawl so it could get through the narrow space on top of the corpse. And maybe it got stuck so it didn't keep going. Although that does seem awfully soon to start crawling.
Try it on the surface; I bet it won't work.

   |   Re: Enemy AI Using Effective CoverI think you're right Azukki. I was unable to get the enemy to use the cover that was available. Also, the Blue Clone didn't move after going prone, because all of us forgot one VERY important fact: Green and Blue Clones can't crawl. I also used the "Go To" AI function to make a heavy clone go through a re-created tunnel, and it did the crawling move kinda early. So, apparently, the AI does not use cover, or ducks to avoid bullets.(Although it would be nice if the AI were that smart)

   |   Re: Enemy AI Using Effective CoverWhat is that second soldier ahead of the blue clone? If it's a green clone, then it's understandable why it didn't move.

If it's a Coalition unit, then I don't see why it didn't move at all, in both frames.
Maybe it's body part was stuck somewhere?

   |   Re: Enemy AI Using Effective CoverIf you look carefully at the enemy soldier's leg, it is gray, which means you are looking at its BG leg, and had lost its FG leg. That might be why it can't crawl very well.

   |   Re: Enemy AI Using Effective CoverIf you look at the prone soldier, you can see that it's FGleg made a small hole and is in it. It doesn't even move a frame at all.

   |   Re: Enemy AI Using Effective CoverIf you want to see the AI as smart, every coincidence that is beneficial will seem pre-planned. If you don't, then you'll see every flaw. Either way, it will hopefully, and I do stress the word hopefully, be upgraded in B21.In before Lua.

   |   Re: Enemy AI Using Effective CoverI just discovered this today. I had a dreadnought up on a raised platform so it could fire down on a flat section of ground. Two skeletons approached me but just as I was about to fire, one crouched down behind a corpse with a riot shield sticking up out of it, then the second one went prone and crawled to the first skeleton. I was so mad! I had no idea that ai could do that. Then a drop ship came down behind me and destroyed my dreadnought with it's engine flame.

   |   Re: Enemy AI Using Effective CoverSo, you weren't in a tunnel, and the skeles did that? Was there anything over their heads, like a platform?Could you get a pic? This sounds interesting.

   |   Re: Enemy AI Using Effective CoverNope, just plain open ground. I haven't had it happen again. If it does happen, I'll post a screenshot
