Well, after being away from the comp for a week I decided it was time for some good old Cortex, but when I try to get on I this "RTE Aborted! (x_x)" error. I thought that I had downloaded a bad mod or something so I deleted all of my mods. Still getting the error, so I look at the message, it says:

"Abortion in file .\System\ContentFile.cpp, line 557, because:
Failed to load datafile object with following path and name:
Base.rte/Actors/Slish.wav
The last frame has been dumped to 'abortscreen.bmp'"

So I went to this Slish.wav file and checked it out. I didn't see anything wrong with it, so I thought, "maybe I need to delete it". And well, I deleted it and it did nothing. So now, so craving to play Cortex, I ask for your help. I've already had to E-mail the devs to unregister my key this Monday, so don't just tell me that unless its the only way.

Please, some help would be nice....

Restart your computer.

Unless you recover the file from your recycle bin, have fun reinstalling CC.

I'm guessing RGB's solution might have worked before you deleted that file.

Well, gotta e-mail Data to unregister me, again

I'm having the same dilemma, except I've restarted five times before and after installation, and I switched to a new computer with Vista.

You don't have to email data... See the icon in your CC folder 'Unregister'? Double click it.
