Re: Orbital Garbage Dump *UPDATE* v1.3
I thought it was pretty much done. Is there something that needs to be fixed?

Re: Orbital Garbage Dump *UPDATE* v1.3
If he does update it I would love to see some of the bigger peices (When they hit the ground) blow up (So a bigger explosion) into the smaller peices =3

Re: Orbital Garbage Dump *UPDATE* v1.3
I don't know about you guys, but I deleted this because it lags so much. Sure, it's pretty, but if it crashes or lags my game I'm not interested.

I've had that problem too, but I thought it was just because my comp sucked. I guess I could tone down the flame emitters if people would like it. Any takers?

OGD impressions
Yeah, count me in. I like the concept, but it's not practical for me to use. I tried it a few times this afternoon, and it lags my game all to Hell. As long as the pieces are falling, I get maybe 1 FPS.
Don't get me wrong, the rain of flaming garbage is as beautiful as it is deadly, but it changes Cortex Command from an interactive game to a pretty slideshow for as long as it lasts.
I'm running it (or should I say, trying to run it) on a dual-core P4 3.0 Ghz with 3.25 gigs of RAM. Not the beefiest machine, but not exactly an abacus either.
Maybe you should create several different versions, with the current amount of flame cut by a third, a half, and two thirds, then those of us with less than top-of-the-line machines can vote on which is the best balance between eye candy and performance, and you can use that in your final version.

Re: Orbital Garbage Dump *UPDATE* v1.3
lol, 3 to 1 It only lags the instant it starts, but when you see everything start falling its back to normal for me (And my computer is a PoS right now)

Re: Orbital Garbage Dump *UPDATE* v1.3
Well, here's a few new configurations to try out. Tell me if it improves noticeably. Attachment:
File comment: Change the index.ini to go back to either nofire or regular 1.3.

I still can't believe a dual core with that much ram is having a problem with it. I mean, even my computer does better than that, and it's not more than a half gig of ram on a single 1.8GHz cpu.

Re: Orbital Garbage Dump *UPDATE* v1.3
This is a pretty good mod. One suggestion: Make the sprites seem glowing hot, instead of just being on fire.
Sound: Maybe some sort of whistling?

Re: Orbital Garbage Dump *UPDATE* v1.3
Don't change the round count to 999999 make it fully auto and make the rate of fire 999 and then proceed to aim down and fly across the stage shooting.
I repeat: don't do that.

Relative Performance
Devices_minimumgibs: This works perfectly. Yes, it's not as pretty as the others, but I can easily have this constantly going above my bunker with only a few momentary hiccups.
Devices_nofire: This produces some slight slowdown. It's enough to be irritating, but it doesn't really interfere with gameplay.
Devices: Ah, beauty comes at great cost. If this setting is changed at all from the default setting that comes with the regular mod, I couldn't tell. Fraps displays anywhere from 1 to 8 FPS while this is going, but it looks closer to 1 than 8 to my eyes.
I hope that's helpful.
