Sounds cool, but might this mean there'll be no mining? Hmm probably it only means starting funds and you'll gain more by digging, i hope.

It's just a small grammatical error. Data's not about to remove the mining system. You choose how much money you have at first, then you plop down with that much.

Quote:
And does this mean that you can't gain any more funds in the turn-based strategic phase? Or could you advance turns and wait until you get more funds? You should be able to save the game in campaign in my opinion. And if you run out of funds you could just load. So why should there be any game over's at all? Unless you lose all your territory in strategic phase, that would be a good game over. I hope it's possible for the player to lose his territory as well. Which gets us to the next thing....

If I remember right, Data mentioned being able to replay old scenarios to get more money out of them. So, if you're at a difficult level you can't pass, you can go back to previous missions, redo them, and get more gold to fight with.
I highly, highly, highly doubt the campaign will not have a saving structure in it. That would be such atrocious game design that I really find it unlikely that Data would do it. Frankly, I'd call it enough of a given that I'm not sure why you brought it up.

Quote:
So is the player the only one on the offense? Or can the enemy factions move aswell, showing on your screen that they are about to move to your territory? You could then choose to move in to defend, or ignore and leave it for the enemy, attacking another area. Then there would be 2 possibilities how the game could handle it: You could lose your territory right away, or if the game idea is that all areas always have troops, you would play both a defense and attack game on different areas. But then i don't know what good intercepting enemy forces would do. Perhaps give you more troops in the beginning of the battle?

I really doubt Data's going to make it a simple "push forward until you win" game. It's, again, highly probable that the enemy factions will attempt to take your territory. Prom has released some descriptive text on the factions in the game; there's a good number, with unique twists.

Uh, we already have that.

It's called...THE TUTORIAL.

Fun fact: The incident with the dummies attacking you was the first instance of them becoming rogue.

I think he means a prolouge that shows how all this came to be, but we already have that, it's called the INTRO.

levels that you have to play before the game tells you how to play it?

WHAT AN AMAZING IDEA

YOU SHOULD WORK IN GAME DESIGN, TOTALLY

Actualy Grif, Suprisingly there are games like that, they are rather annoying though.

1) When it's done.
2) Why do people keep asking lua questions? We know as much about how much it's going to be able to do and not do as you do. Pretty much. I mean we might know slightly more, but we don't know specifically what hooks and things we can actually use.

That's a good, simple, working idea.

Yeah, you're probably right. It wouldn't be much of a metagame then. More like a menu to choose your next mission. But i didn't feel so sure when i wrote that. And thanks for the faction hint, i hadn't checked out the Wiki after i visited it in the early days of it. There was a small spoiler in the dummy section though :P

My investment in this game makes that answer not good enough.

It also requires an answer from someone qualified to answer that question.

1) You bought a game. You did not buy shares in the game.
2) Nothing on the buy screen said anything about Data being obligated to keep you up to date with, or even in fact finish said game.
3) Stop being so selfish ): Most indie designers are making their games for themselves. It's lucky for us that he even decided to let us play it, let alone play it for free for two years and then at a reduced price.

You do not have that right.
All you bought with your money was the right to play the full version of the game.
He is not obligated to give you anything more.

Don't tell me what my rights are.

I can ask anything I want.
