Post Defense door
Thought about making this, tell me if it's a terrible idea or it's good enough.

Idea is, it's the end of the shaft, when you move close to it, it opens a hatch, and you can shoot through that, so you can protect your base furthermore.
It's going to be an attachable door ofcourse, it's going to be destructable, and if accepted, I'm going to make a light and heavy version. Light for whatever reasons, heavy cuz, heavy's awesome.
If you have any suggestions other than the sprites, lemme know, the current sprite is just a placeholder really.

I'm going to scratch it if it has been done.

I figured it would be easy to make a door with one slider instead of 2 sliders.

This would be the heavy door, as you can see, it has a few attachments, making it last longer.

Heh, I do something similar to this using Data's detached small sliding door and bunkermods. It works pretty decently but doesn't look all that great. I say go for it, it's definitely cool.

I actually don't think it HAS been done, oddly enough, cause it's a really damn good idea. Go for it.

have the heavy ones for use as peep holes outside the base, and the light ones for interior base defence.

Good idea though.

This sounds bomb ass fly but try to make it so that the enemy doesn't shoot at them as much as other doors.

I like these. I can only think that their gibbing would help block up the hallway too, after it's been penetrated. Certainly would be fun to mess around with.

well I dont think it would be an actor... more of a bunker module, right?
the hatch part itself wouldnt really get in the way if it gibbed, at least the light version

it will be a door, a door is an actor.

Okay, it's actually done now, the heavy door, I'm having a few problems though, there seems to be some space where you can't shoot through, it's like super thick air or something. Invincible air. And this is exactly what there SHOULDN'T BE.
Door can only be opened from inside by the way.

I'd reccomend making the actual sliding bit on the heavy door a bit bulkier, seeing as it is meant to be the harder version of the light. Perhaps have the sliding part less responsive to balance it out?

I don't think that will solve the main problem right now, I want to fix it, then I'll make it better.

Would you be willing to post either the WIP or a snippet of the code? It could be one of several things, depending on how you did it. For instance, is it a Bunker Module?

It's a door, a door actor, I'll post it now, I haven't changed anything yet regarding names or price or anything like that, so it's in alpha state.
