Fixed guns on map locations
Hi all, I am not a native english speaker so I don't really know how to describe this but here goes. I thought it would be nice to be able to place fixed guns/stationary guns on maps and even buy them, where dropships could put them safely on a reasonable flat piece of landscape. Imagine this thing (quickypaint) with an M60 or other light machine gun attached on it, with unlimited ammo and indestructable, steerable in an angle of 90 degrees and usable by whatever actor gets there first. I already have the guns (my gunmod will be out soon, with the help from Duh102) and this would be awesome to use in my maps. Problem is mostly that I don't think actors will be able to use it since they can't pick up the gun. Does anyone know if CC would allow what I am describing here? If it's even remotely possible?

That reminds me; When I first got this game I was actually thinking about making a loony tunes mod, to drop heavy safes, pianos and other stuff on actors. (Hmm...)

One thing you could do: make a non-moving ACrab that looks like a clone and the turret base. Then, the 'dreadnaught mg' could be the m60. Very cheap method, but it'd work. I even think the angle of an ACrab's gun is 90 degrees.

It's a nice idea, but then it'll have to have a team assigned, so no stationary guns being taken over by different sides. Thanks though. Something for the future.

It is a nice idea, too bad it can't be done. I think it'd be great if someone made a mounted gun thing, with turrets manned by clones.

A theory for stationary guns:
Guns can be made pinned. They can still be picked up whilst pinned, and moved around with. So, the trick is to prevent the actor from moving whilst it's holding it.
Solution: The first round of each magazine drops an impact grenade similar to numgun's icebomb, but invisible and with a smaller radius, so it only gets the legs. The pixels can't be dislodged by the actor's movement ; he's stuck in place. When he wants to walk free he reloads. The magazine drops to the floor and explodes, similarly to numgun's ground bomb - it removes the sticky pixels but doesn't harm the actor, because the particles are HitsMos = 0.
Try harder guys, that took me all of 5 minutes to think up.

Its a valid idea but has flaws too.
First of all it would a mobile-deployable statgun. Since you will be able to carry it if you dont fire the gun before that.
Then the actor being stuck is kinda troublesome to achieve due to the wierd dislodging of actors from terrain and on top of that the player himself could simply wiggle himself using jets, crouching, more wiggle and walking to get him free. Also the enforcer block form the AAL pack is made out of test which is really strong, but using a wiggle-a-lot actor on it will drill through slowly but surely. Just like in the B11 days where skeletons and clones could dig through LAYERS of solid concrete just by moving back and forth.
