Post Considering purchase of Cortex Command...a few questions.
I was here before. Back in the day when 'splosions weren't so pretty. I have a gift card, which I will eventually lose anyway, with enough money to get Cortex Command.

I really admire the developers. I really do. I would be happy to give them my money, but I have a few inquiries to make.

1. I look at the mod section. It freaking confuses me. I really just want a mega pack to download, are there any of those? Also, these corporations. A lot to take in.

2. Has AI improved? I don't mind the old zombie AI, but can they path find toward the brain now? Through a labyrinth?

3. How have vehicles progressed? Any buggys?

4. I understand bunker modifications, but is there a way to save your scene?

5. Is there a GUI based scene editor yet? I remember making a gun or two back in the day, but always wanted to make maps.

Thanks for your time, I expect to purchase this ASAP.

Not much to get confused about. There is a megapack sticky in the mods section. To install mods, simply extract the .rte folder from the RAR archive and place it in the Cortex Command folder.

Don't worry about corporations, they're dying anyway.

The AI has been immensely improved. They will find the least path of resistance in terms of material and choose that route. They'll even dig and jetpack!

The AI is not perfect though, there are still a few easy exploits to fool them.

3. How have vehicles progressed? Any buggys?

No land vehicles yet. Current vehicles stand at Rocket MKI, Dropship MKI, and Dummy Dropship. All explode and gib.

4. I understand bunker modifications, but is there a way to save your scene?

Not from skirmish mode, but there is a limited scene editor which you can save your bunkers.

5. Is there a GUI based scene editor yet? I remember making a gun or two back in the day, but always wanted to make maps.

Yes, but you can't make custom terrain.. yet. You can only place bunkermodules and actors, with save and load features.

Also worth noting that LUA integration is on the way, and with it comes more options for modders.

My thanks are to you, I found my gift card.

Going to purchase now. Might be the best purchase I have made since Mount&Blade.

AS this game has better physics engine than most games, and also, Data used to work at NASA so he definitely knows how to Physics!
