Post Re: Icelands
This has to be the coolest map idea I've seen in a while.

To all who criticize: Yes, your right, it's a repost of TLB's map. But Uberhen put some pretty strong polish on it. It's got the bunkers, [although it could use more modules/better alignment. It's hard to get them into standard placement.] The falling snow, [Which the AAL Rocket and Blaximillian seem to die from.] and custom actors. [Which could use a bit more detail.]

All in all, it's pretty good. It could use some more time, more content, and ect.

-X

Could you make it snow ice chunks? Or at least make it faster. It seems less like freezing land than slightly snowy.

if somebody does do this then make sure the chunks of snow does not hurt actors and make holes in the ground and destroys stuff please. thankx

My suggestion would be make the snow GetHitByMOs = 0 and short the trail of the snow particles to 2 or even 1. Too long right now, that lenght is good for rain effects.

Does my processor just suck or does adding extra snow things make my scene lag horrifically?

Emitters tend to do that.

I'd just like to say that I love this ♥♥♥♥ map.
But you seriously need to rebalance the M4- it can kill Heavy DarKlones, and they are the most overpowered sons of a ♥♥♥♥♥es ever.

Sure. I'll give it a 4 round clip. (jk) Yeah, there's some things I've been meaning to tweak, and next update I'll add another weapon. The snow emitters do tend to lag after a while - if you want, you can comment them out of Icelands' ini.

You know, I think that by reducing the trail length of the snow, as numgun said, it might reduce the lag. I'll try it.

Yay your back with more good maps.

I suggest you make the snow a 1 pixel sprite, 1 pixel trail, then add a very small white glow.
Extremely sexy looking snow.

Your welcome.

Now do it.

Also, a fun thing you might want to include would be a placeable heater, which emits steam and glows red and explodes violently.

Bah, hey man, I expected a polished version.

The snow damages. SNOW ♥♥♥♥ took down an AAL cruiser. SNOW.
No. That doesn't comply.

Snow is also not a 1 pixel white dot.
It is a crystaline structure that refracts light.

Snow compacts, not forms a spiderweb of tiny ant tunnels.

I'm going to fix this up a bit, Uberhen, want me to send it to you so you can update, Or upload here? Or keep my nose out of things and not unpload the improved version?

Well, you can PM the fixes to me, I'll check them out. I'm putting up an update with new additions shortly, so I might just combine our two updates. If it's alright with you. But yeah, send it please.

Post Re: Icelands - Patch Added
Hmm. The patch is incomplete I think because when ever I try it is says
Quote:
Abortion in file .\system\contentfile.cpp, line 647, because:
Failed to load datafile object with the following path and name:
Storm Trooper.rte\images\rocket
The last frame has been dumped to 'abortscreen.bmp

I have added each file in the patch one at a time and it still does this.
