Orbital weaponry.
I thought of this one day, it started out as a hand grenade that rained death from the sky. That didn't work. So I did this (idea stolen a little bit from the gigantic bomb pack with the laser thingie) Two devices, both under the tools menu. The first is the Orbital Plasma Beam markerVideoFire the device, a marker will be placed in front of you. If the marker survives then 6 seconds later it will disappear and a laser thing will fire from directly above. The beam lasts about 5 seconds, and can penetrate a base fairly well. It holds 3 shots, and cannot fire them fast enough to have more than one beam active at a time. (almost though) The second is the Orbital Plasma Cannon markerVideo(note it's not that fast, I just got impatient) Fire the device to place the marker. After 10/12 (not sure) seconds, it'll disappear and the the plasma cannon will start firing, balls of magnetised plasma will rain from the sky (1/sec) causing massive damage to units that pass through, but has some trouble penetrating terrain. The bombardment lasts 20 seconds, and you get 2 per device. Have fun piggies~!!

Re: Orbital weaponry.
So, use the beam thing to dig a hole, then use the cannon to blow all their units to pieces while still inside the base?
Awesome.

Re: Orbital weaponry.
The cannon is pretty inaccurate, but I suppose it'd be cool to make one that fires a massive bomb which penetrates the surface and then explodes.

Yea, but it lags like a ♥♥♥♥♥.
I like the Orbital Plasma Beam marker best. Easy to make, and its pretty cool and fun. The other one could be a litte more accurate, but that one is still useful to rain down on a larger area.

Heh, these are pretty neat. Gotta disagree with whitty though, OPC > OPB.

The Ypsilon bomb does that, doesn't it? No the Ypsilon just rapes everything. Also great mod I had alot of fun with the OPC. OPB is cool to but I still like the OPC more.

Re: Orbital weaponry.
Not bad at all. I think that the beam looks cool(the way the particles fall), and it just seems to have a well done air around it.

<3 OPB. It's too bad I mostly play on that map numgun made recently and these things take AGES to hit the ground because it's so tall.

Re: Orbital weaponry.
:S Well is should take the same time to hit as if you fire it on the campaign map, it works by the beacon making an emitter with Y offset -800.
