Heh, cool, that explosive pistol reminds me of that tiny gun Will Smith used in the first MIB movie.

The noisy cricket, most awesome novelty weapons ever.

And also I lied, I won't do any tonight, I'll do it when I do.

Noisy Cricket, thats right! Heh, I loved that thing, best part of the movie. Well, one of the best parts. In the top ten.

Have you considered a gun that fires an actual intact clone? That one guy made one that shot a clone, but the clone always gibbed when it got launched...

Someone made one for a previous build, it shot blue clones which just stood there doing nothing.
See the ABomb gun, it shoots a craft containing a character, you could just make it gib right after launching.

Cool weapons, but too hazardous to the user and the weapons itself. But i understand the technical difficulties in that area.

Hazardous to the user? This is ORC science we're talking about.

Who was it who had the thing in their sig that said " 2 orcs die cutting a steak, 3 die chaning a lightbulb, 5 more die starting a car and countless hundreds die after the car starts running" ?

I dunno, but the point is, I'm a bunch of scientists who want to make cool stuff, not worrying too much about the hazard to clones.

Clones test them after all.

Orc = most expendable for of life in the universe. Orc science must mean science so dangerous that it mainly consists of
"Hey, a button! lets press it!"
"but it might kill us or mangle us..."
"so?"
"Good point!"

as the train of thought I'd presume.

Yeah, essentially.
Although it's more like:

"Hay, dangerous and awesome explosive substance!"
"Wanna light it?"
"Sure why not."
*controls someone else to light it*

LOL. Oh, i see now :P I must have missed / forgotten that about orc science. But now that you mentioned it, i think i recall something like that from the old mod topics.
And considering the lack of any interest to make the weapons of orc science safe to use, i'd say that these guns actually feel quite safe :P And the explosive pistol seems like a total breakthrough in the safety area ;) No harm caused at all to clones using it (at least so far....except firing too close).

And that is extremely dangerous.
It's funny how easily it gibs people...

Anyway, does anyone have any ideas for a cool device?
I was thinking about a rainmaker, like, acid rain.

Rain sounds cool. Or other kinds of weather effects turned into weapons. How about a tornado device? No idea how that could be made though. Or.....some kind of weapon that works on it's own?

Like for example a dangerous effect of some kind that you unleash/start up and then it does the killing on it's own (either directly targeting enemy clones like electronic targeting device or then randomly causing damage like hazardous gas clouds, but the weapon wouldn't need to be either of these) as opposed to guns that you control directly to do the damage.

The weapon could include some dangerous unpredictable things to happen even harming the user, but that would be no problem to orc science i guess? (That might actually make things more interesting, if you also had a chance to evade these dangerous unpredictable things) :D
Or then a hybrid of these, you have some control over it but it does the damage on it's own, not so directly targeted.

Hmm i hope this makes sense :P Just a few vague ideas i have...

Something I think would be cool is like a storm machine, making lightning strike all over the place.
Although that would be quite complicated to do, I'm sure I could manage it.

Noisy Cricket, thats prolly one of my favorite weapons too.

As for the acid rain idfea, I was thinking a dropship modeled to look like a cloud, and instead of the thrusters firing shortrange bullet particles, apply thrust to them would instead generate green gravity affected particles with fairly high penetration. It's a cloud you can fly that kills things and rapes the terrain when you move it basically. Or even when you dont move it.
