Get the following things: Halo 3 (despite the forum's mass hatred and jealousy it's REALLY fun...) Mass Effect Orange Box (If you don't own it on PC.) Burnout Paradise (when it comes out in Jan. 08.) Ace Combat 6
And a couple others I can't think of...

Ace Combat 6 Gears of War
And a couple others I can't think of... fix'd. Ace Combat is graphics, not gameplay.

Ace Combat 6 Gears of War Holy Mombasa (but venn a little bit more, Ace Combat is all grafix, Gears is tuns'o'fun) has good suggestions.

Oh, and if you can get past it's saving system, I'd recommend Dead Rising.

 Re: Xbox 360!
I also heard that Kayne & Lynch: Dead Men was good.
If you can, there are some good XBLA games available: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (MUST get it, the longest played XBLA game for me) Worms (Good, but not as many weapons as some other versions) Uno (fun) Roboblitz (never bought it myself, but it has lots of physics)
And, get the Burnout: Paradise demo, Gamertag: MombasaMk2

 Re: Xbox 360!
Kayne & Lynch? Good? Have you been on the internet at all in the last two weeks?
But yes, the Burnout: Paradise demo is fantastic. And Uno is strangely appealing.

After about three hours, Bioshock becomes another cliche repetitive steampunk-esque shooter. Seriously, I couldn't finish the game once. Game of the year should've been Orange Box etc.
