Post CoCmd Mod Database: What features do YOU want in it?
I'm going to start coding the Mod Database soon and I am wondering what features you guys would like. So far, I have come up with:

- Simple "Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down" Mod Rating System - Akin to StumbleUpon (best Firefox extension ever, it's addictive like crack and always gives you what you want from the Internet. You tell it your favorite things and hobbies and such and it will give you random pages from your interests that other people have found in the category. It's kind of like a personalized digg. Get it. NAOW. </tangent>), this mod rating system does not require any thinking. Either you like it or you don't. Thumb data will be displayed as well in a small box on the mod's page so you can see how many people have rated it and, if you're really curious, who rated it.
- Popular mods, highest "thumbs value" mods, newest mods. See garrysmod.org for this in action.
- User pages: Shows your "Thumbs Up" mods, "Thumbs Down" mods, favorite mods, and of course, your mods.

A small list, I know (I've got plenty more in my head that I need to sort through), but I want suggestions from the community. What do YOU want in a Cortex Command Mod Database?

Modders' mod page, so you can find the awesome people's mods quick, and part of mod portal.
Favorites, as in favorite modders, favorite mods, for your account.
Corporation tags on mods, to identify which corp, it was released from.
Build tags, obviously know which build it is for.
Modder Hall of Fame, showing modders with great acheivements!
A how-to install CC-mods instructions, and video

This will be publicly viewable.

Ok.

Does anyone ever release things under Corps anymore? I do it as the occasional joke or to beef up my story lines, but not as like an actual corporation release (Orc Corp is dead, as far as I'm concerned).

Was thinking about this one. It will be a definite addition.

How will these people be chosen? If this were to be added, I'm going to make this democratic so it's not just 1 or 2 people saying "This guy is amazing!". Modders would also have to have a certain number of "Thumbs Up" on their mods (I was thinking that we could also do a thumbs system on users) to get into a fame status.

Easy enough... I think Daman had one a while back. I'll make it so when it redirects you to the download page, it has a link to the video.

Alright. I'm also going to add a "report" button, but this one won't just alert Moderators. If someone else feels that a mod uses a lot of stolen code without crediting the proper author, or is even a reupload of a mod under someone else's account, you can report it to the original author and the original author can determine if it's their mod in a different package. They won't have the power to delete the mod but their report will appear as a report of much higher importance than others. This way, I won't have people constantly spamming reports with "DUPE! DUPE DUPE!" when they see others who get ripped off. The only person I will accept "DUPE!" reports from is the original author.

Also delete button for your mods of course.

And if a mod passes a certain number of thumbs down ratings and the ratio of thumbs down to thumbs up is extremely in favor of down, mods will be deleted. I was thinking the magic number should be 100 and 25/1 thumbs down to thumbs up ratio. More? Less?

Oh, and I will need some moderators by the way. Mods will be able to delete mods if they are reported or if they have no thumbs up after 25 ratings (can be changed).

I'm not even going to comment on the above two Cherry, you should already know.

Also, searches. You can tag your mods, (possibly?>) others can edit your mod's tag, if no tags are put in when uploaded it's tag would be "tagme".

As would everyone else including me, but just saying "I want to be a mod" won't get you to be one.

Also, people do still use corps, yes.

well, here are my thoughts.

the current corps (did i get them all?) are as follows:
1. BWI
2. SRC
3. AAL
4. Thec
5. Pirate
6. KMF

great idea to clean out the bad mods, and keep the good ones.

They can tag them with AAL/fagcorp themselves because nobody cares besides the corp members.

Yes, you can tag your mods Daman. I'm thinking that people can add any tags they want and take away tags that aren't put into the tagcloud by the author.

Yes, good idea. I know people could tag their mods, I tried putting the little > next to possibly to indicate possibly @ over thar.

Also author can change his tags too etc.
