Stolen sprites?
Hey guys I need your opinions on this one. There is a guy over on the gamemaker forum who has posted a bunch of sprite sheets that he says he made form scratch. I CALL bull♥♥♥♥!!! I think he just copy + Pasted a "Download a new cursor" popup! This is a sheet for the game Metal Slug isn't it? So what do you guys think? I know for a FACT that I've seen the food ones in a popup or two. Also if you look at one of the guns it has a little black cursor in the top left corner.

Re: Stolen sprites?
I agree. Ive seen these before, just recolored and rotated.
That other one is from Metal Slug. Some console version where you fight Nazis who team up with aliens.

Actually, I don't think that they are all from one sheet. I recognize one of them. The knight head is from a virus called "Brave Sentry". REALLY screws with your computer. I hope he gets that. Anyways, I hate custom cursors. Too hard to see where your mouse really is.

Really someone needs to call him out, I'm digging through google to see if I can find any of them, if I manage to I'll post the link here so he can be called out.

Yes, we've established that, I'm looking for proof as we type.

Re: Stolen sprites?
I called him out earlier today. No replies yet though... The funny part about it is everyone on the Gamemaker forum really thinks he did them himself. They comment him with things like "OMG you are sooo good! Here is a link to the stupidity. http://gmc.yoyogames.com/index.php?showtopic=343021

Re: Stolen sprites?
Well, that's because they teach that gamemaker thing to 2nd graders. Someone spent a year on one game. That got corrupted. And sucked anyways. It was one of those "OMGGG SHOOT THE ROCK AND GET A POWERUP!!!!111!"

Re: Stolen sprites?
Hey, look, there's nothing wrong with Game Maker. Just because it's simple doesn't mean it's for idiots. It also comes with a coding language, and can be used for professional things. People post stolen sprites all the time, a lot of them here. Just because somebody posts stolen sprites doesn't mean the entire community and program is screwed up too.

Re: Stolen sprites?
The deference between the stolen sprites here and the ones there is that everyone knows when someone used stolen sprites here. If you try to steal a sprite on this forum then you'll get flamed till you leave. There you get praised. Game Maker is a good program too. I use it because I can't make a game from scratch. Unfortunately I don't have the attention span to finish a game. (Especially after my damn cousin deletes one I have been working on for over a year )

Re: Stolen sprites?
I know Game Maker is a good program, but I had to go to a class once, and... it wasn't too good. And, I'm just talking about that one guy's game, not generally. Some games are pretty good.
