Uh, how about groups for me... I tend to listen by band, not songs. Lately, at least.
Something like;

Snow(Hey Oh) or Dani California - Red Hot Chili Peppers (Stadium Arcadium - Jupiter)

The Difference or Mad Season or something from Matchbox 20

Float On, Florida, Invisible, or Fly Trapped In A Jar by Modest Mouse(Yes, I only own their new album, for the moment)

I can't decide to take Lifehouse, Keane, Sonata Arctica, Nickelback, Panic! At The Disco, Finger Eleven, Smashing Pumpkins, or whatever else I might put for the last two.

Loquat, Johnathan Coulton, et cetera are also possibilities.

I'll listen to anything. Literally. But I want more swing/jazz/older music, and more metal.

Songs(may change as I realize better ones) :

Snow(RHCP), Stop(MB20), Fly Trapped In a Jar(MM), Mona Lisa(Chris Clouse), The Pretender(Foo Fighters)

Education - Modest Mouse
The idiots are taking over - NOFX
Bleed it out - Linkin Park
It wasn't me - Shaggy

Bleed It Out is practically the only song I listen to from LP anymore.

But still, knocked off the list by more meaningful songs. I had to decide how to determine the list, and relevance to my life won out. To a degree.

Thats the only Modest Mouse song I've ever heard. It sounds good to me. One song isn't enough to assume I'm in a fan club or am a Modest Mouse fanatic.

Also LOOK WHO'S TALKIN! your whole list is Modest Mouse!!!!!!!!

Because they are the greatest musical group to ever assemble.
Seriously though, try some of their other stuff. Float On is a song they made for the general public and not one for their hardcore fans.
Try Steam Enginius, Grey Ice Water, All Nite Diner, Little Motel, Fire It Up, Missed the Boat, Sleep Walkin', Florida, Third Planet, Dramamine, Bankrupt On Selling, shoot man, just listen to all the albums. Ignore Good News For People Who Love Bad News.

But why can't he enjoy Float On?

Dashboard is cool, but not as deep and doesn't require as much thinking as their other songs.
It's just a generic pop-rock song with a catchy beat and lyrics that are under quality to the other songs on the album.

Yeah. Pretty much.

I can't even understand enough words in Invisible to figure out what it's about.

I swear, there are way too many of you who like the type of music far under the power of Slayer and Anthrax. Really, am I the only real metal head here? (No, Nickleback, Disturbed, Linkin Park, or any of those faggoty modern bands don't count considering they aren't real metal.)

Nickelback and LP never claim to be metal, hurrr.

The only metal I have currently is Sonata Arctica, going to get more though.

I don't know what my top ten are, but I'll just post the first 10 songs in my constantly randomized playlist.

Carol of the Bells
In the Hall of the Mountain King
Tamacun - Rodrio y Gabriela
Around the World - Daft Punk
Battle without Honor or Humanity - Kill Bill
Axel F - Remixed SA version
Jammin - Bob Marley
Crazy - Gnarls Barkley
Blue - Eiffel 65
Futurama Theme

If my playlist could speak, it would splurt memes.

I've had to play the first two, or parts of them, in orchestra.

Also, it's "I'm Blue."

Slayer is pretty hilarious, I can dig. I like Octis and Orthrelm and Noxagt and the like.
EDIT: Is Prurient metal? He's in Pitchfork's No Mercy Best of 2007 list but then again pitchfork can be horribly wrong.

Does prog metal count?

I've got some Queensrÿche and Metallica, but most of my stuff is more recent progressive stuff like Opeth, Dream Theater, and Symphony X...
