Post Message clients. End my indecision.
As the title suggests, I am currently in the market for a new (multi-protocol) message client. I currently use Pidgin, but it continues to shoot itself in it's intangible, digital foot, meaning it just decides to up and crash at random moments. There is really no pattern to it.

Anyways, as I said, I am looking for a multiple-protocol messenger, as I run a few different protocols. (I run MSN, ICQ, Google Talk and an IRC enabled one would be PREFERABLE but I this feature is optional)

Also: One with an interface that did NOT burn my eyes (I'm looking at you http://www.beenut.com!) would be fantastic.

I used Trillian for a bit, but dumped it in favour of Pidgin (I was seduced by the Google Talk support, OK?)

BUT. Despite all this, what I REALLY want is for Pidgin to stop crashing, so far it's the best multi-protocol messenger that I have seen so far.

Anyways, thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Weird, I have Pidgin, and love it. I have multiple accounts on multiple protocols, and I have yet to find a client that handles that as well as Pidgin does. Have you tried reinstalling Pidgin and GTK+?

@WJ
Cheers, mate. Looks good, my only qualm is that the interface seems kind of shoddy. I'll have another look later.

@MNH
Yeah... For the moment I'm just going to keep going with Pidgin, and hope, vainly hope, that I can fix this problem/it fixes itself.

Have you updated pidgin? 2.0 is pretty stable.

If you really like Pidign, instead of just changing clients because of a bug--submit a bug report and let them fix it :]
