Debate Thread
I would like to request an Admin-controlled Debate thread, with different weekly topics.
It could be a new forums thingy with many debates running at once.
Or it could be a topic in the General Discussion forum, with a set subject of debate.
I'd happily moderate it if need be. ( I am not begging to be a mod, I am just offering to mod this thread only, though I would like to be a forum mod, that's not what this post is about.)

Re: Debate Thread
I'll look into it. I've been thinking of something like this for a while.

Re: Debate Thread
Why did this need to be passed to us immediately, you can start up debate threads in GD, it seems to be within the definition of GD...

Re: Debate Thread
As long as it doesn't end up like "intelligent discussion?" Anyways, if people can keep it civil, then it sounds like a decent idea.

Re: Debate Thread
It has to be like, very moderated, or else it would end up as a giant flame war with spam...
For topics, we can do some weekly topics, like politics, religion, war, and even CC [use your imagination]

Re: Debate Thread
I remember there was the Mature Discussion subforum which was removed due to immaturity. Revive?

Re: Debate Thread
Oh god no mature discussion failed.
Now, if this ♥♥♥♥ gets moderated to all hell, AND IGNORANT RESPONSES ARE BALEETED it may succeed.

Re: Debate Thread
WJ seems to have taken offence.
Maybe he'll let us if we talk about smaller stuff, like the questionability of democracy or Capitalism Vs Communism.

Re: Debate Thread
I'm inclined to believe that WJ was offended because of his own beliefs. There's no reason to disallow such a topic. It seems like this forum needs some intelligence injected into it, so I think you all should give it a shot.
You need to find a way to have posts and comments moderated (meaning they are not visible until a moderator posts them).
Didn't someone do this with the mods? Someone did a moderation scheme for mod posting? Should work the same way for this debate and discussion thread.
