Will we be able to save bases we made?
It's a real pain in the ass to make a good base (i make one with a giant silo in the middle, so all the way down to the hangar my drop ships are safe), then have the game crash on you 15 minutes later.
will we be able to save the bases we made and load them up at our will in the future?
Also, will we be able to turn off the smart pathfinding ai if we want to when it is released?

Also, will clones if equipped with a digger actually switch to the digger when they reach where the brain is buried and dig to brains if you give them a digger?

Isn't that goddamn obvious.
You're asking if someone who managed to write dynamic pathfinding for a pixel physics game knows how to check what weapon an actor has equipped. Stfu already.

Yes, there's a scene editor in the full game where you can load/save and all that jazz.
Also, yes the AI will appropriately switch to a digger when they need to dig past a section on their path, if they have one in their inventory. They will also pick up any diggers they come across if they don't have one already. If they don't have any other weapon, they will use a digger to attack if they have that.

Sorry, i'm just being ♥♥♥♥ stupid because what you do with a seemingly arcane 2-d videogame is something i've never really seen done before.
it's just to good to be true.
but, will enemies pick up weapons they find on the ground if it's better than the one they already have, or just if they don't have one?

hard to gauge the 'goodness' of a weapon... perhaps ai will only pick up more expensive ones? That would work.

Data: We have "all" seen the new screenshot in the IGF submission. When will that build be released to the public? We're dying out here!

Yeah, really, i seriously am more hyped about this than i was about stalker or bioshock before i actually played them both and I figured out how much they sucked. Data wrote: hard to gauge the 'goodness' of a weapon... perhaps ai will only pick up more expensive ones? That would work. Probably, but it would be better for them to just pick up a weapon if they don't already have one, even if they have a digger

Probably, but it would be better for them to just pick up a weapon if they don't already have one, even if they have a digger I highly doubt such a system isn't already coded. Anyways, I don't much like the idea of money-based value, since I make most of my weapons free for the downloader to balance.

I don't get the point you are trying to make.
At all.

Re: Will we be able to save bases we made?
^ Yeah that could work.
Devicetype: Weapon/Tool Devicerating = 1-10
The AI would still go for the first digger it saw if it didn't have one, but if 2 were near each-other, it would go for the higher rated one. And if the AI lost it's weapon it would try to find another, and of course, would choose the highest ranked.
Probably all of my "fun-time" weapons, would have to be ranked 0 for fear of what the AI would do with my pretties.

Oh, thats a good idea. Its a little less arbitrary than cost, but a little bit too objective. It's a start!
